Answer:	I would say it stays cold longer than a block of ice. Here's how I use it. I bring food home from the cafeteria at work to family. I take the hot food from the cafeteria and put it in a little food carry back with temperature insulation. I then put that in the refridgerator. Then when I leave work for the day, I take the bag with me. My commute is close to three hours. I was finding that the food didn't stay cold just in the insultated bag. So I now take the Blue Ice and put it in the freezer when I put the hot food in the refridge after lunch. Then when I take the bag out of the fridge to take home, I put the frozen blue ice on the bottom of the bag. This keeps the food nice and cold all the way home. It works well.

Answer:	They can but they will most likely leak. The #1 basket has a smaller base that fits INSIDE the drip pan. The other two baskets have larger bases and sit outside the top rim of the drip pan which can cause condensation to leak out. It should always have the #1 basket on the bottom to prevent leaking.

The water is put into a tank at the bottom and then over that lays a catch Basen for the water that condensates and drips from cooking. So the only thing near the steamer is fresh clean water!
