Question:	What is the difference between a "quick" release and release "naturally" after cooking
Answer:	You will want to use the "quick release" for more delicate foods like fish/seafood, chicken, or egg dishes that have carry-over cooking from residual heat, and will get tough or overdone easily. Remember to stand back when quick releasing - it is quite a blast of super hot vapor. Roasts, soups, stews, and chili type dishes that are not harmed by additional cooking time can be "naturally released" (caution with any residual steam when you open valve and lid). Answer:	Hi there! The most basic model series we have is the LUX, which is a 6-in-1 that combines a Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Steamer, Saute Pan, and Warmer. It is available in 3 quart (LUX Mini), 6 quart (LUX60 V3), and 8 quart (LUX80) sizes. Please note that this model only operates on High pressure-- every other model has both High AND Low pressure settings. The DUO is a 7-in-1 that does everything that the LUX does, plus it has a Yogurt Maker incorporated. As mentioned, it and every pot following will have the ability to cook at either High or Low pressure settings. The DUO series is available in 3 quart (DUO Mini), 6 quart (DUO60 V3), and 8 quart (DUO80 V2) sizes.

Answer:	It can replace both of those items, but I wouldn't do that. Slow cookers are versatile in other ways than electric pressure cookers. Sure, you can't cook beans right but you can slow cook the heck out of other things. Made chicken thighs and veggies TONIGHT in 20 minutes (5 minutes to pressurize, 5 to pressure cook, and 10 to perform a natural pressure release) without having to lift a finger. There's something to be said for that.
Question:	What is the smallest amount of rice it will cook
Answer:	Hello! The LUX60 needs at least 1 cup of water to work correctly. If you do a 1-1 ratio for your rice, you can do a minimum of 1 cup of rice.

Answer:	I am not sure you can lower the default times. But, you can always use the Manual settings and set the pressure, heat and time. I almost always use the manual settings based on my personal preferences. It is very easy and convenient and takes just a few seconds. So, if you don't want to use the pressure, heat and default time options for any of the presets, just simply use the manual mode and set each of these yourself to your liking.!
Question:	Is there a way to get a replacement pressure valve
Answer:	Hi, you would need to call Tayama customer service and they can assist you on a pressure valve. I lost mines and has issues with a replacement. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I just looked on my Fissler Electric Pot and it's 1000 watts. The reason I bought this brand, rather than the "InstantPot" is that I have purchased at least 5 Fissler on top of the stove pressure pots, for me and relatives/friends. There is no other brand of on top of the stove as fantastic as the Fissler! It (on top of stove) has no "jiggler thing" it escapes no steam, and cooks 1/3 faster than other top of stove pressure cooker. So I bought the electric pot. I really like the fact that it times out when the food is done. So, easier than watching the stove. It doesn't come with a recipe book, instead a guide on the different settings, which are important to look at. I did download an ebook from Amazon on "Instant Pot" recipes which is pretty good. I hope this is helpful. I'll be happy to answer any future questions from you. Just mention earlier question. Oh, I also use the yoghurt setting a couple times per week. Answer:	No approval from the USDA. But they don't actually formally approve canners. They list specifications that a canner must have and the Max fails two of those. It has neither a pressure dial gauge or a continuously venting weighted gauge and does not meet the USDA size specification.
Question:	does the steam function use pressure
Answer:	A bit of research was done on this. Here's an openly available study : https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0208769 Instant Pot has a fluff piece about it on their web site as well. I've also noticed that sterilizing in an Instant Pot is popular with YouTube Biohackers / Brewers for preparing their growth mediums. I use my Instant Pot (a cheaper model with less options) to prep Bell jars used for kombucha, ginger beer, prepping/'waking up' my beer yeasts, etc. The lab standard for sterilizing that is referenced in that linked journal is 121 degrees Celsius at 15psi for 30 minutes or more, and this unit is capable of meeting those standards.
Question:	Is there a way to have staged manual settings for temperature and time i.e. 20 mins @ 100F, then 20 mins @ 120, etc
Answer:	No, and in all likely hood, it will never be. Why? It is too small. All of the tested recipes from the USDA and the NCFHP use larger capacity canners. They state that a canner must be able to hold 4 one quart jars upright. Size matters due to the fact that heat up and cool down times are factored into the tested recipes. Now if Instant Pot can show that the heat up and cool down times are adequate maybe it will be approved. Not holding my breath.
