| Answer: | No, the P65 not P75 have a thermostat. I did not like the P75 - never worked - see my review. The p65 did work great and used it on two trips. It kept ice packs that started out frozen solid frozen for days. On another trip it cooled room temp bottles of water down to nice cold ittles in a day (left plugged in to house power woth converter to precool at house before trip) Would recommend the P65 - but it does not have a thermostat. |

| Answer: | The Koolatron draws a full 5 amps at 12 volts. A 20 watt solar panel won't come near to providing the amperage necessary to run any refrigeration unit that I am aware of. As mentioned below, 60 watts is absolute minimum, but with haze and clouds, you would probably do best with a 100 watt panel, plus a large storage battery for dark days and nights. | Answer: | Assuming you've set the bottom zone thermostat at its lowest possible setting and that the door seal is intact, there is no reason that your wine cooler should not hold your wine at lower temperatures - at least as low as the mid to upper 60's, which is fine for most red wines. I've noticed myself and have also heard from a friend who owns the same model as we do that the internal temperature of both chambers is greatly affected by the ambient temperature of the space in which the cooler is kept. I live in cool, coastal Southern California and I can reliably keep my cooler's lower chamber at around 65 - 67, year round. My friend lives in a much warmer inland city and the temperature of her cooler's lower chamber may go as high as 70 or 72 degrees. Still, your cooler's temperature of 77 degrees seems much too high, unless, perhaps, you are storing the cooler in an excessively hot space. If none of the above conditions seem to apply then I would probably suspect some sort of defect in the unit itself such as, perhaps, a loss of freon by some means. Sorry that I can't come up with anything more specific. Perhaps someone else will chime-in with a more helpful perspective. Good luck. |

| Answer: | Have you taken the back off the unit and cleaned the fan motor and heatsink of any dust/ dirt? How many inches of clearance did the wine have around the back and sides of the unit where it was operating? We recommend unplugging the unit cleaning and leaving the door open for 1 to 2 days so that the interior of the unit may completely dry out and then plug it in and see how it functions. If you tried all of the above and it’s still beeping and there has been no damage to the touch control there may have some damage to the circuit board on the back of the unit. |

Coldest temp will be just a little warmer than the average refrigerator (40F), so it won't be as ice-cold as a super cold standard refrigerator...but it gets sodas to a satisfying cold temp of probably closer to 45-50F. If you expect it to get as cold as a standard refrigerator, it won't. |
