Answer:	Since I got mine over a month ago, I plugged in and I honestly have never unplugged it after that. Since I use it to store formula every night, it stays on for atleast 8 hrs a night and then I just turn it off using the switch at the back when it is empty or when I wake up in the morning. So I have a house adapter that I plug it into to chill it down then I put my cold drinks in it usually cans and when I am ready to leave I then take it out to my vehicle and plug it in there for during a trip from New York to North Carolina .
