I would say that if you were to get an extension, to make sure it's a low-number gauge, and as short as possible. That should decrease the possibility of it heating up and causing a fire. But of course it would be best to plug it in directly to an outlet.

Answer:	There is a set screw on the upper right. Turn clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase.

Answer:	I don't know but don't buy it until you're 100% sure. Mine didn't fit my Whirlpool. It took a while for the repairman to get to my house because of the pandemic. So I was past the 30 return window. I wrote to them but they said I can't return it and would have to buy a new one.
