Answer:	The BSB510XL Control Grip™ will work best on chopping those foods but it can blend them. The blades on it covered with a kind of hood so that the small food or ice pieces are kept under it and against the blades until smooth. The food pieces would need to be chopped very small to fit under that cover and the food items would need to be processed in small amounts as blending should not exceed 30 continuous seconds at a time.
Question:	Can a person with small arthritic hands easily work the blender
Answer:	I do not have arthritis, and I love this blender. I personally found the size of the previous inversion blender i had to be easier (cuisinart). Also, I agree that it's very difficult to detach the head for cleaning. It's not a problem for me but it always take a few seconds and extra effort. Overall I like this hand blender more but I'd recommend the other for someone with arthritis for sure, especially because they are similar in functionality.

Answer:	I have not made baby food. But I have pureed several foods. I do not think you will have any problems.

Answer:	The chopper itself. It's very easy to assemble. You put the container on the base, put the blade assembly on top, and then the cover. There's no twisting or fitting things together, other than placing the container so the semicircle matches the one on the base. It's equally easy to disassemble and clean. Answer:	I haven't used it for water only, but...the directions say that it does. You can custom set to heat to 212 degree (which is the temp. fo boiled water) with a max. 10 minute brew time. I suspect that would definately boil the water for you. You just need to select that option. It will keep it hot for you also, for up to 4 hours I think (I do not currently have the directions in front of me). It is like that for the tea anyway. You will not regret purchasing this. I it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time.

Answer:	It doesn't, special cleaning powder descales and removes tannic buildup. however, tea tastes better with filtered water.

Answer:	They do not replace the carafe or "jug" as it is referred to on the website. However, having just spoken to Breville customer support in the U.S. they will offer a discount on the purchase of a new tea maker. I was offered 40% off the price ($149 for a $249 product). This is essentially what I expected to pay for the replacement carafe as the base is a $95 part by itself so I am happy to be getting a new one for that price more than four years after getting my first one. Until my daughter dropped mine, it was working amazingly well.
Question:	Are the plastic components BPA free? Why do you have plastic components
Answer:	I contacted Breville about over two years ago about the plastic used to make their products and the Breville BTM800XL in particular. According to them, the plastic which touches the water is BPA-free plastic. After doing some research on BPA-free plastic, I found that the manufacturer of this plastic will not reveal anything about the plastic except that it is BPA-free. They refuse to disclose the materials which go into making it and they refuse to discuss whether there may be any toxins in it. They will not assure us that there are no other toxins in the plastic beyond the lack of BPA. I called Breville once again and they just kept telling me that it is BPA-free but seemed unconcerned about the fact that the manufacturer of the plastic refuses to disclose any details about the content of the plastic. Breville very quickly became rude even though I asked my questions in a respectful manner. They wanted no more discussion of it. I was very disappointed in their lack of concern in this matter. The Breville BTM800XL is a great concept in electric tea makers. It's all stainless steel and glass (safe materials) except for the plastic on the tea leaf basket which rides up and down inside the boiling water. Couldn't they have put in a little extra effort to use stainless steel or titanium instead of a mystery plastic so that no one would have an objection to this tea maker?

Answer:	Hard to say... it doesn't register on my kitchen scale. They are more expensive than other tablets, with the positive that they are an exact fit in the cleaning tablet holder. We use a descaler called Durgol in the Breville water tank when it's time to clean the works.

Answer:	Yes the purchase includes a steaming plate but I have not used it. That said I love this product and should anything happen to it I would purchase another. I cook from scratch and steamwith a pan specifically for steaming. I am sure this product would do well. Hope this helps...

Answer:	Yes, the sliding dial goes from keep warm, 280F thru 480F. If you are cooking at a higher temp it does take time to cool down enough to just keep the food warm. I usually just turn the unit off a little before I remove the food. It takes a while to cool down especially if lid is left on.

Answer:	I suggest go with the EP-RAC50. These pans were well made and worth every dollar you invest. They are easy to use/ care/ clean and I'm pretty sure they are durable, as I've been a loyal customer to Zojirushi's products for almost 20 years and each of their products lasts for a long time. Go with the higher grade and it will meet your need. (Plus you'll get a steaming plate)
