Answer:	I purchased both, 450 for my brother and 456 for me. The differences are: - The book: 456 has more recipes - The lid: 456 has a better lid, easier to use IMO - Usage: this one is the most annoying/ different. In 450, when using the machine, you need to stablize the cup by spinning it, "clicking" into their locks. But 456 gets rid of that, just push your cup onto the machine, and start blending. It doesn't have to same stability as in 450, shaking crazily when blending, which is a major disappointment. Hope this helps.

Question:	The blade assembly has a very loose plastic piece on the bottom held in with two small tabs. What is this for? Should it be removed
Answer:	I've only used this on my thigh and it is a little difficult to keep in place if you move around much. I've not used it on my arm, but would think the same would apply - I found that you need to wrap it fairly tight, and not exhibit a lot of movement. And even with that, I will need to rewrap it every so often. Another thing that helps is to wrap it over clothes. So, if on your arm, you might try wrapping it over a long sleep shirt, but again, fairly tight. It will grip most fabrics (except slick ones) better than skin.

Answer:	The unit has the jar and lid. The inside part of the lid had the blades and screws on. The other side fits into the base. You twist it in to attach and when blending is done twist the opposite side to detach. Turn it right side up and remove the lid. Works perfectly.

Answer:	Don't blend hot liquids in small personal blenders like this one; user manuals always warn against it. It's not so much a question of whether or not the plastic can handle the heat. Most can. But trapping gasses in a small, confined space and then heating them a bit by blending and agitating them can pose a safety risk, be it by splattering when removing the lid, causing damage to the jar/blender, or causing a small explosion if the plastic's thin and brittle enough. Most personal blenders (can't see the user manual on this one) recommend letting hot liquids cool to room temperature before blending.
