Answer:	The kitchenaid brand spiralizer attachment is needed to spiralize your produce. I bought the 7 blade Kitchenaid spiralizer set. I use the large spiralizing blade to make zucchini noodles. Zoodles. It is the BEST tool on the market for Zoodles. Shop prices. Amazon has not had the best price. I shopped here first. But, found it for $55 less elsewhere. I plan to buy a second one to have an extra set of blades. I can see myself wearing the spiralizer out.

Answer:	It will cut your shaft but you may burn threw one or two disks to do it. a chop saw with a 12" to 14 " blade would be better if you are cutting a lot of hard shafts.

Answer:	I didn't keep the box, but it looks that it most likely "Made in China", cheap alloy, plates and blades are not Stainless Steel (left the plate on my wooden cutting board over night and now have image of the plate on it). Answer:	The KPRA & KSMPRA both come with 1 Roller & 2 Cutters (1 does spaghetti thickness, the other a fettuccine thickness), making it a 3-Piece Set. The difference is this....KSMPRA is supposed to be a commercial type Stainless Steel Set, whereas, the KPRA is all metal pasta set (& I believe more for home use). However, if make lot of pasta, I'd go for Stainless Steel commercial quality set (KSMPRA) instead. Answer:	Mine came with a vice clamp and it opens wide enough for me to use on my butcher block island. This island is much thicker than the Corian one I had in my other house.

Answer:	A small amount of salt added to the pasta mix will NOT weaken the gluten appreciably (always added to artisan bread dough) nor will it harm the texture or cause it to "disintegrate" while it is boiling. All of that may be scientifically accurate in its pure form, however if you want to add flavor to your pasta add some to the dough and a good bit of salt to the boiling water, but not so much as you would have added if making bland (saltless) pasta dough. In the case of using this machine, he harm in adding salt to the dough is that (over time) it will pit and eventually damage the surfaces of the machine... yes, even though it is "Stainless" steel. Answer:	Because of the rotary design of a spiralizer, the cuts will always be long and rounded. If you'd like to make shorter ribbons, you can follow the directions in the guide. Make single cuts with a knife along the length of the vegetable, stopping at the center, then spiralize as usual. This will result in smaller cuts. For instance, one cut down the length of a cucumber and then spiralizing with the flat ribbon blade would result in single rounds of cucumber. A few cuts like this would result in elbows or half moons. Hope this helps!

Answer:	It should attach to any kitchenaid stand mixer. Love this item....have used it several times since my kids gave it to me for my birthday just a few weeks ago. Save the box as it is meant to be stored in it. Anyone who does baking that requires a lot of sifting will find it is a dream attachment!
Question:	I am concerned with over mixing delicate cakes while this sifts. Can you stop the paddle mixer, sift it all into the bowl, then resume mixing
Answer:	I took a deep dive on how well it sifts. Basically the answer is don't sift things with thick grains. It sifted flour like a champ at the lowest setting, powdered sugar just as well. the flower needs to fall in the reservoir before it will start sifting so when you open the sifting gate you probably need to jab the flower to collapse it's form. Stop the sifter before you get all you want because it will keep going for about 1/4 of a cup to empty the reservoir. At the lowest setting on the mixer it sifts great, this makes it ideal for gradually adding flower for breads, it maybe extended my mixing about 30 seconds due simply to its small surface area. It's fine however, it does not work well with the splash guard so keep that in mind. Is this a needed tool? Nah, it's for the cool factor.

Answer:	Yes it will work on the mini. It will also work on old KitchenAid. Dating back to 1919.

Answer:	Are you using a larger Bowl on your ksm90? I cannot get this beater 2 work it is too large and bowl is not deep enough.. Answer:	I have both the flex edge and the sideswipe beaters - i love them both - and use them for different batter types. I use the flex edge for "thinner" batters like brownie and cake mixes. I use the sideswipe for thicker or chunky batters - like oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip cookies.
Question:	Which is better, the flex edge beater, the sige swipe edge blade, or the new metro beater for all purpose mixing
Answer:	To me it depends on what you are mixing. i like the original beater for some thing and the flex edge for others. For example if im mixing dry or adding powdered sugar in the mixer I perfer the original. The flex edge beater tends to make a mess if you are not careful and you end up with sugar all on your working surface.

Answer:	This blade is for a 4.5/5 quart mixer. As one other person said perhaps the blade needs raising. I have a 4.5 and no problem with this. The instruction manual states how to raise the height of the beater.
