Answer:	This fixture gets VERY hot. When it's hot and it gets wet the tempered glass can/will shatter. Nature of the beast.

Answer:	A 130 volt light bulb is very common and really the PREFERRED voltage when the power to the light socket is 120 Volts AC. Many standard regular screw in lamp bulbs are shown as 130 Volt. Bulbs that are sold as being TOUGH construction light bulbs are 130 Volts. Why? Because if you put a 130 volt bulb into a socket that has it's line voltage at 120 volts AC then it is more difficult for the bulb to fail. A bulb that can withstand a higher voltage without failing will most likely last longer. If you pay attention to the voltages written on your common lamp bulbs then you will see 130 volt stamped on them at times. Also a typical house line voltage can be higher than 120 volts, We have 124 V AC in our home. A 130 volt bulb is a better bulb than a 120 volt bulb most of the time. If you plug anything into a higher voltage then it is rated/designed you could smoke it. So if you plug a light bulb into a LOWER voltage it is the opposite, 130 volt bulb into 120 volt circuit, it is less likely to fail. A 130 volt bulb has a very SLIGHTLY higher resistance through the filament, therefore SLIGHTLY less current through the filament. THEORETICALLY less light. Answer:	Not entirely sure. It should work, I think, but probably with slightly dimmer output if the voltage drops too far. My main concern would be that these bulbs are not designed for outdoor lighting situations - these may not be particularly rugged enough. In general, the longevity of these bulbs are somewhat low - they tend to die within a few months or so. Since I have not yet reached that stage with my purchase so far, I can say that they are working "normally" for now. :)
