| Answer: | Yes it can, there is a coarse shredder and a grater blade. Then on the unit there are 2 knobs one for setting the slicing thickness and one that you raise when you shred or grate. Always use the food guard those blades are VERY sharp. |

| Answer: | I use the Vidalia Chop Wizard to make cubes (either 1cm or half that, tiny little things). You simply slice the vegetable across in the thickness you want and then pass it through the chop wizard to create cubes. | Answer: | Always take it out from the bottom. Safest. Easiest. Grab the mandolin with both hands. The top side should be facing you, and your thumbs will be on that top side with your fingers hidden underneath, clasping the unit. One hand should be where the hinges are...and the other on the opposite side (the side typically touching the countertop when open and ready for use). Now, just hold the mandolin with your thumb on top, (far from the blade) and apply simple consistent force with your fingers from underneath. Sometimes, one side dislodges first. If this happens, just apply equal pressure to the opposite side. Now the blade is free. Rotate it up from the two plastic tabs which serve as hinges. They are located on the blade side. Now, gently tug or pull when the insert (with the blade), and the main body form an angle greater than 45 degrees. At this point the insert/ blade should be completely free. Respect the blade. It is sharp. Treat it the same way that you would any sharp knife. |

| Answer: | A storage unit? No. What you see is what you get. The individual slicers with the blades have a plastic container but it has no lid. |

| Answer: | You know, that is a good question. I just measured the container with water and it holds about 6 1/2 cups, up to almost overflowing. Not sure how that equates to dry measurements, however, that should give you an idea. I have cut up onions, carrots and green pepper together in the container and still had plenty of room for double the amount. Good luck. Hope this helps. P.S. I love this mandoline. Be sure to purchase extra protective gloves like the one that comes with the mandoline. I need more than one as I am usually cutting up other items for my recipe, such as meats (not with the mandoline!). The protective gloves must air dry so I have purchased several pairs. A MUST for people like me who seem to cut myself just looking at a knife! |

You can go across it very quick the way it is set up but we have found that it grates cheese as effectively as a handheld cheese grater. How to slicing & julienne & waffle food:
1.Pull out the folding stand and place the slicer on a cutting board on a flat, level surface. Position the slicer so it's steady and doesn't wobble.
2.Push and turn the adjustment knob on the slicer to the required blade setting.The first blade is for slicing. The next is for julienne. The blade will lock into place once selected.
3.Then adjust the thickness dial, there are many different thickness ranges to choose from, the slice thickness is 0mm to 9mm, and the shredded cut is 4.5mm and 9mm. Keep turning the knob until you reach the correct blade. Lift the cover, and then you can turn the small square knob to switch between the waffle blade and the slice/Julian knife blade. Shredded French fries are very suitable for making French fries.
4.Push fruit or vegetable into the food holder. Slide the food holder against the mandoline slicer. Use moderate pressure and repeat until all the food is cut. PLEASE NOTE: During operation, it is recommended that you wear cut-resistant gloves.
5.Food pieces will fall through the slicer onto the cutting board.
6.After use, to clean vegetable chopper, just rotate the knob to "out " position, then lift the blade and take it out, clean the blade and food chopper with brush, at last spray the entire mandoline slicer with water. You can clean it very clean. Be careful, the mandolin is very sharp.
CAUTION: The blades in the mandoline are extremely sharp! Please be careful with it!
