| Answer: | These trays are not the same size as the older Rubbermaid trays that I have used for years. The length and width of the trays and cubes are the same but the height of the trays are 1/4" shorter than the older ones. The height of these newer trays is 1 1/2" tall and the older trays were 1 3/4" tall. The cubes the new trays make are therefore smaller and will not last as long in beverages. They look exactly the same as the older Rubbermaid trays and you won't see the difference unless you have an older tray on hand to put side by side with the newer trays. Somewhat deceptive, if you as me. |

| Answer: | I do not know, but I can tell you that these ice work the best of every brand I have tried. The blue-greens work better than the white ones. There is only one thing that _I_ caution people about is that it is a bad idea ot overfill them. Take your time filling them and keep the water just below the rims of each cell. That way, the ice will literally pop out of the tray when you give it a mild twist and by that I mean every last cube of ice, especially for the blue-green ones. Whatever these trays have in them, it is worth the risk for that reason alone. |
