Question:	Is it easy to squeeze and release
Answer:	I have had no problem with squeezing and releasing these scoops. I am elderly, have, perhaps, lost some hand strength, but have no problem with the scoop and the 10-to 15 dozen cookies I bake each week. If you can tee of with a golf club, serve with a tennis racket. open most jars, you should have no issues with these scoops. I would suggest you grease the scoop prior to your baking.
Question:	Cog & ratchet keeps going to half empty. How to fix
Answer:	I don’t know if this will help. But make sure it’s clean all around. If it is try a little spray of Pam then open and close it. Hope it helps

Answer:	If you mean sandwich fillings, like tuna or chicken salad, I would say no, it's too small. I use it to make mini meatballs for Italian wedding Soup.

Handle is about 7 inches long. This is the best scoop for mini cookies (approximately 1.5" - 2.5" diameter cookies, depending on how much your batter spreads). I love it, have been using it for years.

Answer:	The small works for melons, the medium is great for cookies. I’ve used the large scoop for ice cream and found if the ice cream is very hard the scoop doesn’t work. The ice cream is stuck in the scoop. When you squeeze it doesn’t release the ice cream. Softer ice cream works well with this scoop. I don’t know what a hush puppie scoop is but I’m going to check it out.
