Answer:	Ours goes in the dishwasher, top rack and we don't use the "heated dry" cycle. So far, no problems, but in fairness, this is not an item we use often - maybe six times a year.

The one thing that I really like is that the guard can be attached to the Mandoline so that it not sliding all over while you are slicing. So in my opinion it is worth the money, others may disagree with me. The Mandoline that we have appears to be better built than a lot of the others.

Answer:	The difference between these two sizes is that the hand guard in size2 is 3cm bigger than size 1.As we are honest seller, so we don't want to cheat our customers in details.
