Instructions：

1.When using the balance, it should be placed on the flat workbench

2.Move the rider to the “0” point on the left end of the ruler: The pointer should be aligned with the center line of the header to obtain balance. Otherwise, the balance nut on the lever should be turned to adjust the balance

3.After the balance is adjusted, place the object to be weighed in the left tray, use tweezers to add weight from large to small in the right tray, try to put the item and weight in the center of the tray, when the weight is increased or decreased to the minimum mass, the weight is still unbalanced, the rider can be balanced. the mass of the object is equal to the sum of the mass of the weight and the mass of the rider.

4.After weighing, the rider should be returned to zero scale and the weight should be put back into the box

Answer:	You calibrate a scale by using a weight that is 1/2 of the maximum capacity of the scale. Once you verify or adjust the load cells to calibrate the scale, you place the varying weights, one at a time, to confirm accuracy through a wider range of test weight...then use a combination of the various test weights to determine if your scale calibration is correct...calibrate at 1,000g; then check 10g & verify scales reading & then the 20g & verify & then verify every combination of weight to test for consistent accuracy throughout the entire range until you are satisfied with accuracy or determine if & how much your scale varies within a certain range...if you want to test at maximum capacity &/or entire upper range, buy another set of calibration weights...simple, right?

Answer:	There is not a counterweight to increase the capacity on the 339 which is the dual reading scale. The counterweight will only work on the pounds only model with a capacity of 400 pounds. If you have an older style 339 with a top capacity of 350 pounds they do have a counterweight to increase the capacity to 450 pounds.

Answer:	I also needed to know if it would go negative 😊. The reason we use the negative measurements is this: if I am making a recipe, and I need to add 20 grams of honey, rather than messing up a measuring cup, you put the open honey jar (you don't want to include cap weight) on the scale and tare or "zero" it. Then, pick up the honey, put in about what you think is about 65% of your desired weight. Then put the honey jar back on the scale. The amount it shows in a negative number is the number of units (for me, usually grams) that you added to your recipe. Repeat pouring in until the scale registers as a negative number what you were looking to add (in this example, at the end it would say -20g).

Answer:	That's for "scale" (it's small: you put food on it, not people). Yes, these are definitely photoshopped, which is common here on Amazon. (If you click the strawberries and then hover your mouse over the different colors, you'll see that these are the EXACT same strawberries in each picture. ) Take a look at the review photos for something more real.

Answer:	"Schrodinger's cat" LOL! Patricia, I use my scale to weigh my parrot. i just have to get him to hold still for a second which I do by holding an almond in front of him. Cats usually momentary freeze when they see something interesting to them as well. Alternatively, you could make an odd sound, like a distressed mouse squeak. Your cat will probably freeze at that in order to determine where the noise is coming from. Let the cat play in the box before you put it on the scale so she/he will be used to being in it.
