Question:	From the looks of it, it appears that things could get mashed down into the base. Do the slices come out looking neat and clean
Answer:	I had also wondered about this and was told that because I have low back pain it would be better to get the 24" because the handles were higher and there would be less 'reaching' bending over that I would have to do with the 26" - And I am almost 5'6" - But I've not bought one yet because I would prefer to 'check' one out first.hope this helps someone.
