Answer:	I did put it in the dishwasher the one time I used it. It survived the experience but not so much my cheese . I found it difficult to grate hard cheese .

Answer:	Hi there, I don't think so. It is great for hard cheeses and makes it very fine. I think Mozzarella would clog it up.

Answer:	Likely not, the grating cylinder is long and narrow with holes more suited for "hard" cheese. I haven't tried cheedar, but I would guess the soft cheese would just clog up the grating holes. It's a very good grater!!...just for harder cheeses.
