Answer:	Hold onto the opposite end of the grater drum and turn the handle in the opposite direction from the way you attached it in the first place. In other words, turn it backwards. You have to make sure that it (the drum) can't move or else it won't work.

However, the teeth on these drums are one-directional and are generally more for "shredding". They do not have the traditional grater teeth you would see on an upright grater which will grate in any direction and turn hard foods pretty much completely into powder. Question:	Is this one “hollow” so that cheese gets stuck in holes in the housing
Answer:	The only place where cheese remnants get stuck is the grater blades which come right out to be cleaned. There are no hollow places on the grater base.

Answer:	if you use the right wheel. I don't see why not. by the way it makes grating fresh cheese for recipes a dream.

Answer:	It's made by "Westmark of Germany". These things are used a lot by the German, Eastern European communities in the North East for their baking. The ones I have used have dated back to the 50's, but they seem to have been around longer than that

Answer:	Yes, but you will have to cut the block into chunks that fit into the holder. (About 1.5 x 2 x 2) It really does go quickly once you make the chunks.

Answer:	It is not Kitchen Aid, but fits it perfectly. I’m not sure what you mean by the “fine blade part.” This unit comes with three attachment - a fine shred, a regular shred and a slicer. I am very pleased with it.

Question:	There seems to be some kind of plate at the bottom of housing. is this a manufacturing error? if so, how do i remove it? or exchange it
Answer:	Not sure we are talking about the same thing - BUT, the photo on the left is of the housing & shredder, tube (and food pusher inside the tube). The housing attaches directly into the in stand mixer but removing the small plate or button on the mixer and screwing in the attachment. It comes with directions and photos if that helps. I find it very easy to use and wish I had bought one years ago. It's the BEST thing for shredding blocks of cheese, potatoes and zucchini.
