Answer:	Yes it does when peeling larger items with flatter surfaces such as watermelons. I've had to actually cut mine off because it was in the way. Smaller more curved items you should have no problems though.
Question:	Is the egg slicer sturdy enough to handle slicing mushrooms
Answer:	I received a 3-pk in July 2019. It still has 'Swiss Made' stamped on the back of each peeler, but on the package (a piece of paper that bonds 3 peelers together with a cable tie) it says 'Made in China'. My old package from last year had the same paper but with word 'Made in Switzerland'.

Answer:	I don’t know if it’s right or not, but mine too is loose and moves around a bit. However, in my opinion it’s helpful when cleaning the mandoline, because pieces of vegetables or fruit inevitably become stuck around that area. The movement of the clear part makes it easier to clean.
Question:	I have a hand-crank drum slicer. How does the Dash mandoline compare to drum slicers
Answer:	it has 3 settings. The first setting is paper thin, about 1/16. Second setting is 1/8 inch thick and the third setting is about 3/16 inch thick.

Answer:	Yes. It is awesome! Use the #2 or #3 setting. When you get close to the end USE THE HOLDER!!! This is a razor blade. People who report slicing fingers were foolish. When I was done slicing a potato I had two dime size nubs left. One from the start and one from the end. If you want longer chips slice on the bias/45° angle. Be careful and USE THE HOLDER!!!
Question:	What is the difference between dash safe slice mandolin and the zacharian one
Answer:	I tried a zucchini. Since the hand guard is only half the length of the zucchini, only the part of the zucchini that is under the hand guard gets cut. I just turned the zucchini around every few slices to even it out and do the other half, but I didn't get any slices as long as the zucchini. It slices so thin, though, that the zucchini is delicious. I hand jullienned the slices for "pasta".

Answer:	Its a heavy, non slip plastic with a rubber (?) coating. I am a chef and this is thee best grater/zester I have ever used. The base is also plastic. Its removable and doubles as a ginger or garlic grater, but its handy to leave it attached when you are grating cheese or something messy. Hope that helps.
Question:	What gauge is the sheet metal
Answer:	I have no way of measuring the gauge of this metal, but I will say it was worth every penny. Definitely worth the extra money. This is the best grater I've ever owned. It does a fabulous job on cabbage, chocolate, carrots, cheese, potatoes & etc. Very well made, very sturdy.
Question:	Reviews note the excellent sharp blades. Although this is a key feature, I'm nervous about blades. Besides being careful, is there a buffer tool
Answer:	I use a piece of PVC pipe, a coupler that is 1 5/8" longer with ID 3/4", and slip this over my thumb. I was nicking my thumb knuckle more than anything, and this has worked fine. Occasionally I do catch the plastic on the grater, probably not good for blades, but better than bloodying my thumb almost every time.
Question:	Does this rust if you wash it in the dishwasher
Answer:	I have run mine through the dishwasher a dozen or so times. No sign of rust what-so-ever! I do not put my knives in the dishwasher, but found this has too many blades (that are very sharp) to safely wash by hand and get it thoroughly clean.
