Answer:	To be honest I have not tried, but there are things you can get to core an apple. This is for cherries.

Question:	Can you use this to pit olives
Answer:	No. I tried it just to see, but olive pits are too big to fit through the holes.
Question:	Do you have to make sure the cherries are placed in upright for it to work
Answer:	We pitted 32 lbs of bing and ranier cherries yesterday I tried to place them upright as I think it worked better but I did notice some went sideways and still got pitted. One thing like I mentioned in my review I did check if I put six cherries in the device that there were six in the tray after pitting. If not I made an effort to see what pits did not come out of the cherries either by using a small knife or by eating them :). We pitted the cherries to freeze them.

Answer:	The limiting factor for this device is the diameter of the holes for the pits to pass through - .5", or 1.2cm. If the pits are that small or smaller, then this will work.

Question:	Can you use this cherry pitter with the smaller tart/sour cherries
Answer:	YES! I have several tart cherry trees and I pick and can about 100 lbs every year. The bottom is filled with pits the more the pits come out on their own. If they don't they are clearly visible and easily plucked free. I have used five different pitters over the years and this one is far and above the best of the lot.
Question:	I'm not real happy with this round one. About 15% of the pits are left loose, but inside, the cherries. Should the cherries be placed a certain way
Answer:	No. You are doing nothing wrong; trust me in that I tried to place the cherries each and every way and still had cherry pits left here and there. One time I noticed only 1 pit out of the 6 cherries were out. So, this thing is a piece of junk, count your losses and the money you save by not buying cherries this year will afford you a decent cherry stoner next year. I have 3 bags to go through as some were given to me, and I dread every moment working with this horrible product.
Question:	Is this messy
Answer:	Pitting cherries is messy...but, this is the best one I have found. It contains the juice well and you can do quite a few before emptying the pit tray.
Question:	Can you use this cherry pitter for olives
Answer:	I, personally, have only used mine for cherries, but I'm sure that olives would work just as well (providing the pits in the olives aren't too big). I would guesstimate that the diameter of the holes where the pits are punched through to be approx. 3/8" (+/-). I hope this helps.

Question:	Does it do the little pie cherries? Cherries in video an pictures look like bing cherries. Wondering if little cherries would go through hole
Answer:	I did do bing cherries, but some of them (the bings) are much smaller than others. The only thing I think will fit through that hole is the pit. So my opinion is that it can handle the pie cherries.
Question:	does this work wirh small cherries
Answer:	The cherries I was pitting were "average" size. But I did wonder the same myself. So, I tried a few that were considerably smaller than the others, and it seemed to work fine on them too. Of course, you may lose more cherry than you want with it, because it does assume all the pits are going to be the same basic size. I don't know how much smaller the pits are on a small cherry.
Question:	Will this work for larger rainier cherries
Answer:	We use it with Rainer and other varieties easily.
Question:	I just got mine. It came with no directions. I'm concerned since it doesn't appear to come completely apart that the metal parts will rust
