User questions & answers
Question: | I read not to use cheesecloth for kombucha. But the quality of this product is good. Will fruit flies get in |
Answer: | I love them because they are not too heavy to work with. I haven't used them on wool or anything heavy like that but I think they would do pretty good. The handles fit my hands nicely. But most of all they cut sharp and clean. It is important to have sharp shears when you are cutting. This may sound bad but my Mother had a pair of shears (not Fiskars) and we spent a lot of time & money having them sharpened. I think that when these shears start getting dull I will replace them with a new pair of Fiskars. Hope this helps. Muriel |
Question: | Would this work well for making oat milk |
Answer: | You should have no problem cutting oilcloth. |
Question: | Is this cloth clean, ready to use or need washing |
Answer: | Yes, I used them on blizzard fleece which is thicker, I cut 100 pieces to make cat cage beds for my shelter. I did oil them as they were a bit stiff. I also had to put band aids on two fingers because of the amount of cutting I did. I was getting a blister. |
Question: | In what country is the cotton grown? In what country is the textile factory |
Answer: | It is fairly small. It is 5mm triangle base and 3mm triangle height. :) |

If you're happy at the end of a wooden spoon, then you will love our cloth.
Far easier to clean than jelly bags and made from organic unbleached cotton so you can be sure that whatever goes through it comes out the other side just as pure and tasty.
We use it for jellies like this blackcurrant one. Quince is another favorite and also plum cordial.
COOK THE PERFECT BIRD
Did you know if you soak our culinary grade cloth in melted butter, you can wrap and cook turkey or chicken? No basting required!
The buttered cloth keeps poultry moist during cooking, and the skin magically still browns through the cloth.

This quality cheesecloth has one of the highest end counts for cheesecloth, hence the name Ultra Fine. It is very versatile and can be used for all your straining needs.
Since it is significantly heavier than regular weight cheesecloth, it eliminates the need to double and triple fold to catch even the tiniest of particles.

Continue to baste over the cheesecloth with the turkey juices during the cooking process. Carefully remove the cheesecloth and discard for the last 30 minutes to allow the skin to brown.
Straining
Use to strain solids from liquids when making soup stock, gravy, yogurt, sauces, jams and jellies. Cheesecloth can also be used to make nut milk, Kombucha and tofu.
Cheese Making
When making cheese, use Regency Wraps Cheesecloth to remove whey from cheese curds, and help hold the curds together as the cheese is formed. User questions & answers
Question: | Is the large the right size for cold brew coffee |
Answer: | We typically use a medium for a 2 quart jar or a small for a quart jar. You could use the large if you had a multi gallon vessel and were making a very large batch, all have the same straining fabric. |
Question: | Can we make paneer in this |
Answer: | You probably could, it’s made from a straining cloth. But they would be very very small. It doesn’t hold more than about a golf ball size of contents. |
Question: | Does the drawstring hold tightly enough that I could use this with soap nuts in the washing machine (without the nuts/berries falling out |
Answer: | I would pull the draw tape to close the opening, loop the excess tape around the top a few times just below the hemline and tie a quick knot by looping it back through. That will keep it closed. |
Question: | Will these work in a Hario ceramic size 02 pour over cone |
Answer: | We tested it in a Melitta 1 cup porcelain brewing cone and it worked fine, there's a video on Amazon (last thumbnail image below the main image) that shows exactly how it works. I looked at photos of the Hario and it looks very similar to the Melitta, so it should work fine. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this for food or staining |
Answer: | Yes, you can use it for food. I used it to strain pumpkin for a pumpkin pie. It did a great job! |
Question: | What is grade of fabric? has any one compare it to grade 90 cheesecloth fabric which are like $3/sq. yard? this is bleached fabric is ok for food use |
Answer: | My guess - this is about Grade 60. The Grades refer to the Thread Count. From the info I have found, all grades can be used for cooking. Grade 90 has a thread count of 44 x 36 & is the finest weave of them all - it is washable & reusable and can be used in sewing projects. |
Question: | Where is this made |
Answer: | The country of origin for this product is China. |
Question: | Would this work to roll up pumpkin rolls to cool before spreading cream cheese and should it be washed first |
Answer: | Yes the cheesecloth can be used to roll up pumpkin rolls. I don't believe it needs to be washed first, just rinsed with water, which the recipe may suggest. |

Wood staining tips and tricks
Staining is one of the most popular coatings in the painting industry for finishing or refinishing wood. Staining might seem like an easier solution over painting, but if not done right one can leave a surface uneven. Before jumping into your staining project, be sure to educate yourself on stain colors and types. These may differ based on your surface and desired color.
How To Apply Wood Stain
- Research: Understand your wood, stain and materials
- Gather Materials & Prep Your Space: Avoid the mess and uneven strokes by gathering your materials firs.
- Test: Determine how many coats you’ll need.
- Sand & Clean: Before applying any stain, sand the wood to ensure a smooth, even and absorbent surface. Once sanded, use a tack cloth to pick up unwanted particles.
- Begin Staining: With your staining pad or wiper, slowly go with the grain of the wood.
- Let Dry, Clean & Repeat: Let your stain dry, clean with a tack cloth and continue adding coats until you are satisfied with the hue.
- Seal The Stain: If you are looking for a glossy finish, add a sealant coat once the final stain coat is dry.
- Let Dry & Enjoy!
Trimaco SuperTuff Staining Pad
Trimaco's Staining pad is ideal for applying stains to any surface without drip or blemishes. Designed with a terry cover, making this stain applicator super absorbent. Trimaco's staining pad ensures a smooth, drip free finish. Invent in a high quality staining pad to avoid lint particles on your final product. Also great for waxing, polishing and washing
Cheesecloth
White 100% cotton cheesecloth is great for staining. Since it is a thinner material, it is easier to fill the wood grain and covers your surface better. To use, simply bunch up and start wiping stain on your surface.
Rags and Wipers
To avoid a brush stroke finish, we recommend wiping stain with a cloth wiper. When wiping, go with the grain of the wood for a natural look. Trimaco offers a wide range of wiper and rag options such as the ProPerfect Wiper, Old School Knit T-Shirt Wipers and traditional White Knit Rags.

User questions & answers
Question: | How about the quality of this straining cloth? Are these cheese cloths for straining reusable |
Answer: | It is possible, however we do not recommend unless you apply heat for short and quick to avoid leaving marks. |
Question: | how many yards does the cheesecloth come in |
Answer: | As outlined in the description, Our holographic and reflective HTVs are thicker than conventional PU HTV. So we do advise our customers to plan ahead in terms of deciding the application. Thank you |
Question: | I want to confirm that if you can use this kind butter muslin to straining cooking oil after fried fish and chip directly |
Answer: | I set my machine knob to custom and then went in and selected holographic iron on. Any other brands of htv other than cricut i buy i set my machine to everyday iron on unless it's glitter or holographic then i set it to either glitter iron on or holographic iron on and it works perfectly. I bought this over 6 months ago and have used most of it up and never had any problem with it cutting it on holographic iron on as the setting. I have a explore air 2 if that helps any. If you are new to your cricut here's a tip...I always leave my knob turned to custom and then i can choose each exact material, a lot of people do this because some like to use more or less pressure and that can be done as well. So if you've ever bought something that didn't cut all the way thru then select more pressure where it has the material type and everything (it won't show up until you are actually ready to cut, it's the very last step... from design space you click make it, check your mats to make sure everything is placed how you'd like then hit continue, then it asks the material type if you have your machine knob set to custom and that's also where you can choose more or less pressure for the cut) I hope this helped you. |
Question: | For longer use time, how to clean the cheesecloth after straining food |
Answer: | No! Didn’t work at all. Wouldn’t even cut right. |
