Answer:	freely. The door is "heavy" meaning made of heavy metal and no assistance from springs or roll-over technology such as are found in car hinges. It is a quiet and smooth pivot but takes some effort to lift against gravity and weight of lid.

Answer:	You want the RAISED colored ridges as seen in the photo of the bottom of the pan. Otherwise the silver aluminum contacts that glass cooktop service and leaves PERMANENT marks on the glass cooktop. You cannot get them off 100%... I learned this the HARD WAY with my last stove. It still cooks EVENLY.

Answer:	I dont think you could pry it open without breaking it. You can certainly get in if determined enough but there would be evidence/damage, for example your kids couldn't get into it without you knowing they broke in. The plastic is too rigid to allow for prying it open without snapping the plastic in my opinion.
Question:	Is it refrigeratable
Answer:	The kSafe works in some refrigerators. As refrigerators very in terms of condensation, temperature, and other factors, it can impact the timing mechanism and batteries. You may attempt to use the kSafe in the refrigerator, but know that it may damage the unit and would void the warranty. The kSafe will not work in the freezer. The condensation from the freezer may damage the electrical components and will void the warranty. I have a spray bottle of diluted Dawn by my sink that I use to spray it after use. Just spray, rinse well and dry it off. It is a really nice manual can opener and it's never gotten dirty enough to require heavy duty cleaning in a dishwasher.
