| Answer: | I did cover my foam but did not try to tuft it. Because I used a 3 inch thickness, I believe it would tear with wear or weight on it. I did make cushions for some outdoor lawn chairs using a one inch thickness and tufted them and then covered with a sun resistant fabric which is heavy and they are wearing well. |

I did not feel as if it provided much cushioning for my bottom when I had to sit for awhile and I only weigh 120 pounds. I felt as if I squished it down when I sat on it. I'm able to get around now so I don't use it. |

Of course be careful and cut minimal amounts, once it is cut it is gone. With a dense foam this works well; we have done this for years. |
