It is a big space so not sure how a small shop vac would preform. I like the machine and use it more than I thought I would. It is well built. |

| Answer: | No, they do not work well for boiling water. However, I use these pitchers for making ice tea brewed between 165F and 185F and they work great. Even at these lower temperatures, the thermal shock will break them unless you temper them. Just pour a few ounces of your hot liquid into the pitcher and slosh it around for a minute. This will prepare the glass for the hotter temperatures to come. Then slowly pour the rest. |
