Question:	How do you use the cutter
Answer:	The best way I have found is to put the cutter on the egg, hold the base tightly to the egg, then lift the spring loaded striker by pulling up on the ball on the top of the cutter. Release the ball, just let go, it will crack the egg around its circumference, then just push the top of the rod to one side, while holding the bottom of the cutter to the egg to break off the top the egg. Hope this helps.

Answer:	China! Of course it's not going to last forever, and it's not perfect, but it was cheap! I figure by the time by quits working, I'll be tired of soft boiled eggs every day!
Question:	Does your product have dangerously sharp edges like it used to have
Answer:	I put it on top of the egg, snap the plunger and the top of the egg comes off. Then I put it away and never noticed anything sharp. Now that you ask, if you run your finger along the inside edge, it is possible that you could get cut. But you would not have a reason to do that. I really like this product and have even ordered a second one for our summer home.
Question:	Is this stainless steel? Lead and Chromium free
Answer:	All stainless steels contain Cr and Ni to the tune of around 18 and 10 percent; lead should be zero.

Answer:	The cups are designed for large eggs. Smaller eggs are maybe a little wobbly in the stand while larger eggs will just it higher. The topper creates a score of 1.5inches in diameter and the size of the egg will determine the height of the score. There is no egg size limit, just variables in height.

Question:	I want to buy a set of 4 different colors, do the sizes match? One reviewer commented that the walls were of different thicknesses
Answer:	I have 7 of these egg cups, all are different colors. The wall thicknesses vary slightly, but the interior dimensions, which is what matters the most, are quite constant. I found one cup that was very slightly smaller, but several large eggs (the size they are intended to be used with) fit securely into all the cups. The preferred orientation is for the small end of the egg to be down, but all the cups worked just fine with the large or the small end inserted into the cup. The difference is size, a bit difficult to judge, is probably about 0.2 mm.
Question:	I ordered this twice, first time I received only 1 single egg holder, and the second time, I received a box of 6. Which way is correct
Answer:	They are sold as a single item. If you want more than one egg cup you use the box on the right side of the page to indicate how many you want. I ordered 2 and that is how many I received. Answer:	According to the website, China. The Le Creuset website will always tell you country of origin, most of the accessories, and even some of the stoneware are made in China and not France
Question:	Do you cook in these egg cups or only serve in them
Answer:	I have never heard of egg cups being used to cook the eggs, just serve them. However, these are very high quality stoneware and if you wanted, you could place the egg in the cup and then put it all in a steamer. I don't think the egg would cook evenly though.

Microwave: Handles may become hot during prolonged microwave use, especially if the handles are enclosed with plastic wrap. Cover just the open top of the dish, leaving the handles exposed.

Freezer-To-Oven Use: Do not place a frozen dish of food in a preheated oven. Place the frozen dish in a cold oven and set the temperature, allowing the dish and oven to heat together. Before serving always check that the center of the food is completely and uniformly hot.

Cleaning and care

Cleaning: Before the first use, wash the dish in hot, soapy water, and rinse and dry thoroughly. For most day-to-day cleaning, cool the dish for a few minutes before washing and drying, or wash in the dishwasher, allowing the full cycle to complete. Never leave a dish fully immersed in water.

For removal of stubborn residues allow the dish to cool, fill with warm, soapy water and allow it to soak for 10 to 20 minutes. Wash in the usual way using a plastic brush or scouring pad if necessary.

Question:	What is meant by 'Carded'? Does that refer to the packaging
Answer:	I have no idea what is meant by 'carded'. I do not think it has anything to do with the product itself. Must be packaging term. I use this egg piercer every time I want boiled eggs and don't want the shells to break open in the cooking process. This device is great and is worth every penny. I gave one to my neighbor and to my daughter.. Thinking of getting another just to keep on hand. Love it!

Answer:	If it said, it was on the packaging. The piercer doesn't have anything on it.
Question:	Can this be used to peel a soft or medium boiled egg
Answer:	You use this to pierce the shell before boiling. It then makes it much easier to peel. Pierce the fat end with this. Then put the eggs in rapidly boiling water for exactly 16 minutes. (Keep the heat on a setting so it is boiling, but just barely.) Then dump the eggs into ice water and peel. The shells will almost fall off by themselves.
Question:	What is the best way to cut the top off a soft boiled egg AND do you really need the special spoons
Answer:	This is a general response, not specific to this product, because the question was not really related to the product. For decades, I just whacked the eggshell with a knife or spoon to remove the top of the shell. Now I use an egg topper. May still get a couple of little shell fragments, but I can take those out. Little spoons that often come with toppers, prickers and egg cups are great, because they fit into the shells better than a regular teaspoon. I prefer stainless steel to ceramic, as they seem to hold up better. Same goes for most egg cups. A pricker, preferably spring-loaded, is essential for boiling eggs. I have found that it keeps the eggs from exploding if I overcook and makes eggs much easier to peel smoothly, because the egg whites don't stick to the inside of the shells. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I don’t think so. There would be no way to monitor the color change in a pressure cooker. Why would you want to soft-boil eggs in a pressure cooker anyway? It only takes a few minutes on stovetop,

Answer:	The egg timer works with multiple eggs. It will take a few tries to figure out exactly where on the time indicator your eggs will be to your satisfaction. But once you learn to read it the timer it should work regardless of how many eggs you are cooking. I prefer my morning eggs soft-boiled, but I usually put two or three extra eggs in the pan and leave them in to hard boil after removing the soft ones. Those I use for egg salad or as a garnish on salads.

Answer:	Here is a pretty foolproof way to hardboil eggs. We have done this over 200 times and have only had a couple of eggs that were slightly difficult to peel. Set eggs out on counter for about 3 hours. Bring water to a gentle rolling boil, add eggs and set timer for 15 minutes. When time is up pour out half of hot water, add cold water and as much ice as you can. Let sit for 15 minutes and refrigerate eggs.
