Answer:	There is no print at the bottom of the cup. The metal tea strainer insert inside is a definite no to microwaving. I have a similar cup that states to not microwave but is dishwasher safe.

Answer:	No its not made to do that. It's still a nice set though. You can rest the diffuser on the lid to keep it out of the way. Or you can leave the lid on to keep the heat in. Bit if you try to drink with the lid on it will dribble down your chin or fall off.
