I just called YETI (01/02/2018) in Austin, Texas and asked about this and they confirmed it is not leak proof. If you need something leak proof, they said to get a YETI with the scree on lid! The magslider is not a good product if you need something that does not leak.

Answer:	Never tried that, but why would you need to. I find the cup keeps the coffee very hot out of the pot for up to 30 minutes and warm for up to an hour. I would not want to put in on a warmer if I didn't drink it by then. Kinda defeats the purpose "don't ya think?"
