Question:	Can you safely make tea in the cup using boiling water without damaging the inside surface
Answer:	I'm guessing that you could make tea with boiling water since the coffee is too hot for me to drink right away. I do not know what the cup is made of but the outer coating seems to some sort of paint. I did ruin the inside of cup #1 (white) because I scrubbed too hard trying to get the coffee stain out. I'm being more careful with cup #2 (black). Tea will probably stain as does the coffee so hope you got black.

Answer:	Not sure if this is any help, based on the assumption that the original flakes, but I am going on my second year with this mug - daily use - since Christmas day 2018. My cup still looks like it did when it was given to me. I am a straight black coffee drinker. Only use the cup for coffee. Never any additives. And always make sure the bottom of the cup is completely dry before I put it back on charge.

Answer:	The mug has a handle and may no fit. but you can put the lid on and try to see if other spaces in the car can be put down. thank you.

Answer:	You might notice that the slider on the lid has a bit of sideways give. If you pinch one side of the lid in to let the slider block out then you can use your finger or a spoon to push the lid up and put through the drinking hole. The black rubber grip around the lid pulls out as well and so does the blue silicon hole cover. They pop right out. My mug had gotten disgusting and I was desperate for a scrub down solution, so I started messing with the lid until parts started popping out.

Answer:	Ember mugs are defnitely NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. The bottom of the mug houses the electronics, battery and heating element. You can wash the mug by hand. Wipe at least the bottom dry.

Answer:	Yes, it does come with the flat horizontal coaster. Some call it a charger plate. It charges the battery in the cup. It works. Even if all else fails, that platter will keep your coffee/tea at the right temperature even if the battery in the cup itself should fail in the future. I have the 4 oz and not problems. My bro has the smaller size and says that it is not accurate within 1 degree. So I don't know how he measures this, but this is the only bad thing I have heard about this cup. Oh, yeah, it is not cheap.

It's a tight fit, but it DOES work and keeps the coffee piping hot for much longer, without a scum forming on the surface of the coffee (if you use milk in your coffee.) • The 18-watt mug warmer measures 4.53 x 4.53 x 0.79 inches, while the hot plate is 3.15 inches wide. Selavif R&D center suggests using mugs with flat bottoms for better results.
