Answer:	The big difference is the model. This one doesn't have the full tang that tapers from the handle to the blade. The blade is a stamped one running all the way through the handle but not as thick at that point. I have both and for what I have used it for, I think I prefer the Gourmet version as it has a little more flex in the blade for spreading than the higher priced one. It was a little transition for me from the butter knives we traditionally use but I have come to really like it as a universal sandwich knife that can slice, spread, and do all. I have even used it to turn an egg when making an egg sandwich since it is a little wider. Needless to say, I really like it and have thought about getting another one or two to add to the collection.

The width of the blade at its widest point is not quite 1.5" and the handle (approx. 4.25" long). is the equivalent size/shape as other knives in the series.. This knife is actually one of my favorite tools - it makes spreading butter, mustard, peanut butter, mayo, whatever you need really easy and smooth, while enabling you to either spread a very thin layer or more. The serrated edge is adequate for cutting the sandwich, although I usually prefer another knife for that. This version - the "Gourmet" class - is lighter, more flexible, and less expensive than the "Classic" model (I have both), but I actually prefer the Gourmet... I like this tool so much I've bought several to give as gifts to friends...

Answer:	Yes...the top is what you see on the bottom if it, in the pic; that comes off and covers it up. There's a part (the piece that's laying against the spreader-in the pic, that goes on the top that is against the butter which you push down on, to get the butter out. I really liked mine, and it kept my butter fresh, but my last batch of butter became moldy for some reason? Maybe it was the butter. Otherwise...great product, and comes with a cover.

Answer:	I am not familiar with Stubbies or Elgin. The container works great if you use 1/2 of a quarter pound stick from a 1 pound package of butter sold divide in quarter pound sticks . You can always cut the butter to fit the container.

Answer:	It can use those but it is better with the wider 4 oz butter sticks, like those as Trader Joes. But we have used both with success

Answer:	You couldn't be so wrong. I think it's not that worthwhile not to buy from the US dealer - you are certain you always get an original knife made from the right materials and passed QC, and not some low-quality one. I checked the reviews and some people said they bought from Chinesse dealers and got rusty(!!) defected items, and even not the right product. Personally, don't know what's to consider here. Better pay a couple of $ more and get the right one and in 2 days.

Answer:	First check where you bought it from. Didn't notice and that time and bought from a Chinesse seller and got a fake item. You can contact the authorized US distributor. I contacted them and wanted answers (needless to say that I was unaware then that I bought from a fake seller). First they checked and didn't see any record of my order. They brough to my attention that there are fake sellers from China selling counterfeit items. So they apologized for my bad experience and even sent me their original knife free of charge! Very pleased! Great thought and company. BTW, new product is great, can tell the difference.
