| Answer: | There are 3 modes of heat transfer, conduction, convection, and radiation. Both conduction and convection can not take place in a vacuum (double insulation). I’m not certain but the copper must be to do with the last mode of heat transfer, radiation. It’s likely the the copper has a lower emissivity and therefore lower radiant heat transfer. |
