Answer:	It actually had the opposite effect on my scissors, too. I ruined three pair of scissors. I have the AccuSharp tool for sharpening knives and that works really well, though.

The 006 GardenSharp (not 060) has ONE, angled, tungsten carbide blade that is meant for SINGLE-BEVELED blades. The other 'blade' is not meant to sharpen, it is simple a steel rod designed to guide your sharpener. This is because on your pruners, loppers, any single-edge blades only need ONE side to be sharpened to make a clean cut. If both sides of your loppers are angled then you will just bend the stem instead of cut it. Do not use AccuSharp 001 on single-beveled garden tools; it is not designed for them.
