Answer:	Recently my granddaughter was using one of the knives to cut through a potatoe and was having a difficult time. The knife has a ridged edge and in trying to cut the potatoe she actually cut her finger with the knife. So I don't recommend using the knives to cut solid vegetables.

Answer:	Hello R. Riley... original is 23 degrees. I may vary a little --- however --- Swedish 12C27 Scandi-Grind with a little secondary bevel. I'd go to using the predominant (most obvious grind angle) and find this as a good guidelines to re-sharpening maintenance. Forget/lose the secondary bevel over time and simply polish the 23 degree edge. I like the Stainless version for here in Alaska. One thing you will find is that it's really reliable. Another aspect to consider is that 56-58 is somewhat soft for arduous tasks like butchering a Moose, but it will do it.

Answer:	I own both knives, the blade on the bushcraft series is considerably better suited for bushcraft task such as batoning or carving out a fire board. The tang on the bushcraft extends further into the handle than the light my fire due to the fire steel positioning. Finally this knives comes in two different favors the 1095 carbon steel which is preferred by survivalist for its strength, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. The other flavor is the sandvik steel which you already know and I am sure love from the light my fire version. All in all they are both great knives, I use my light my Fire for camp tasks and food prep and take my bushcraft for remote extended trips when I backpack.

Answer:	They really were pretty terrible even for the kids. I had them cut a cucumber and it was sooo hard. I thought it was because they were little but when I tried it I was disappointed. Don't bother, a butter knife works better and truthfully is probably safer because they try to "saw" it.

Curious Chef® was founded in 2008 with the goal of creating real tools (not toys) for beginner chefs to use in the kitchen. We worked alongside an educator with 25 years of experience in early-childhood development to create fully-functional, safe and appropriately sized tools for little chefs so they can start developing lifelong cooking skills. Answer:	If it’s too late for the birthday returns are easy. If not check with Amazon customer service they will be able to give you information about your shipment.
Question:	Need a knife set that I can use on my stainless steel pans and my sons non-stick ones. Would these knives work without scratching it up
Answer:	They're pretty dull, as they depend more on the sawing action of the serrated "blade" to cut, so I would think they would be safe.
Question:	Do they work on cheesecake? Tired of knives scratching the pans
Answer:	Hi! I have not tried it on cheesecake, so I did a little testing for you. I cut quiche and it works great. And I cut a slice of cheese from a cheese block. Worked great! I would say it would work well with cheesecake if it cuts those other food items. My son loves his knives.
Question:	Length of the 3 knives
Answer:	I gave them to my grandchildren -- ages 4-6. They live several hours away, so I haven't seen them using it. I kept the longest one which is a total of 10-1/2 ". The blade is 6-1/2".
