Question:	Are these ceramic blades
Answer:	I have 2 of these knives, one has a 3 and one half inch blade (I think it is the paring knife). We use this knife every day. The other has a seven inch long blade. It does not look like the knife in this photo, as the blade is 2 inches wide by seven inches long. I think the utility knife you are asking about is a different knife.

Answer:	For whatever it's worth to you: The handle feels light weight and you can see no metal edge along the top or bottom of it so my guess is that the metal blade does not extend far into the handle. That said, we have had our set of three sizes of these knives for over a year and while they don't necessarily get daily use, we have had no problems with the blades breaking, bending or coming loose.

Question:	How do you sharpen the cutting shears
Answer:	No, there is not. There is only a sharpener in your main cutting knives.
Question:	Is the block a light wood or dark wood
Answer:	Correct, the 4 top knives have the special slots but, the scissors, the steak knives and the serrated knife does NOT have the sharpening ability. I only wipe the knives off on my dish towel when I pull them from their slots, I've never seen any metal residue but, I say better safe than sorry. I have been really pleased with my purchase and would definitely buy them again and I have recommended them to others. I did read another response that indicated the buyer's set rusted easily, I am not sure how she cleaned hers but, I never put my knives in the dishwasher and when I wash them, I immediately dry them and put them away. I have used mine consistently for about 2 years and they continue to look as good as they did when brand new. Hope this helps.

Question:	Can you purchase extra steak knives in this style
Answer:	Forged is the way that they are built. Some knives are stamped, others forged. Neither is necessarily better, stamped are usually thinner, and are about the same thickness across the back. These knives have a metal feature where the blade blends into the handle. This makes the knife heavier. These knives are heavy for their size, if you like that kind of balance they are nice. If you like lighter weight knives these are not for you. I have an inexpensive Henkel's chef's knife that is stamped and much lighter. Its a nice knife if you prefer the balance of a lighter knife. I also have a 12" antique German forged knife that is better than either, somewhere in between balance wise. But it would be very expensive if you purchased the equivalent today, probably 10 times the price of this set.

Question:	what does the word 'forged' mean with this bundle of knives
Answer:	I use the block to sharpen them. I slide them in and out a few times before use.

Answer:	8 inches is the longest. May I make a suggestion storage is a issue for me to do I purchased a magnetic knife holder and hung it on the inside of my cabinet door.
