Answer:	Not sure what D means but I use it for leather work with ultra sharp tools and for hole punching with a 2 ton press and it is holding up very well. I would say it is as hard as my commercial grade boards.

Answer:	It's a safe bet. Amazon has been pioneering Chinese brands for years. That's become amazon's forte. If they're not facilitating Chinese companies to sell direct to US customers, they're facilitating small US home based businesses selling out of their garage or paying amazon to warehouse the exact same products, just with their own brand name screenprinted on the product. If you're trying to buy American, good luck... If you do, it'll not doubt cost a premium and there'll still be a greater than 50% chance it's mostly produced overseas, only assembled in the US.

Answer:	Mine are still in good shape. If they're falling apart I would certainly toss them.

Answer:	I have to say yes, but only on Top Rack. These particular mats are of better quality then ones I have had in the past. Personally, I prefer washing them in the sink with a little chlorine when they have been exposed to animal proteins. Other times, I can just wipe then down with a scrubbing sponge and be done.

Question:	Do they slip while we're cutting things
Answer:	In my experience, yes. I have granite counter tops (not sure if that matters) and even though when you place them down, they feel like they're not going to slip... once you start cutting, they start to slide. I know others have stated they do not slip... not sure how others have such better luck. But if you chop or dice properly, they slide. I have used mine for everything - vegetables, meats, ect. Vegetables are the worst, since you're typically doing a lot of dicing and chopping. It's really a shame because outside of that, they are excellent mats in regards to everything else you are looking for. Just a side note - I have given up completely on plastic cutting boards except I have 1 for meat, 1 for chicken, and 1 for fish that I have had for quite some time that I only use for breaking down the particular product. For everything else, like vegetables, I have a couple of thick and heavy Boos block wooden boards that are unbelievably fantastic.

Answer:	I wrote to Dexas, pointing out that the online care information (dishwasher safe) conflicts with the packaging care instructions (handwash only), and this is what they sent me in reply: "You should be fine to put them in the dishwasher. I thought the packaging had been updated to say that but either it hasn’t or your set has old packaging."

Answer:	Neither side is smooth. They are designed to have one cutting side and a gripping back side. The back side has a 4mm square raised grid pattern. The cutting surface is a very fine honeycomb texture. The material is polyethylene which is supposed to not dull knives. The thickness is close to 1/32" which is thick enough to feel sturdy and durable, but not so thick as to be inflexible. I've been using one mat for close to a year now, and while it has a visible area of heavy usage, it does not show knife tracks unless you look really close at it. It is also stain resistant for beets, turmeric, etc. I do clean it nearly every day with a brush and cleanser or Biogreen Clean which works well. I like these mats very much compared to others I've used in the past... I know, I really should get out a new mat, but I'm cheap and I like green... what can I say. lol.

Answer:	Actually .025 Thick. But that is ok they work as advertised, not meant to last a lifetime. I do prefer the ones with the dimples on the back side they tend to slip less on a wet surface. Kind of an important feature when cutting, and chopping.

Question:	The set of 3 looks like the backing might be different from the set of 4. Are they the same as far as the surface and the nonslip
Answer:	I never bought the set of 3 THey look a little different from the set of four I bought. The set of four I purchased is my second set. THey are great. I don't know what you are looking for exactly. The set of four has a good surface and they don't slip, but they have no special backing. You can use either side.
Question:	Can you put a hot item on the cutting board? Will it melt or leave a mark
Answer:	I have used these many different ways. They take a beating. I use them to cut up my cotton paper that I use to paint on. But I always have more than I use for that paper. But my son uses them to cut his spices and herbs. He put them in the dishwasher after dinner. I also see his wife using them as a hot plate for the pans when they come out of the oven. I hope that answers your question.
Question:	Many of these flexible cutting boards tend to bow up or down after a few weeks. Food tends to roll off. Will this happen with these
Answer:	I've never experienced this on any flexible cutting board including these. These are fairly stiff and i store them flat -- no problems.
Question:	Will this work under a large plastic cutting board and keep it from slipping
Answer:	On my slippery granite counters, a dry Zulay does not slip at all, but moisture defeats it. Since it also has a slightly textured top surface, it should work as you intend. Conversely, I had another brand of basic plastic mats (not anti-slip) and they could be secured by putting a damp paper towel under them. It was effective, but wasteful and messy.
