Question:	What's on the bottom of the feet? Is it rubber
Answer:	No. Pretty much all Victorinox knives use a compound grind (somewhat lighter and more versatile than Scandi grind, but also more expensive to make). :-)
Question:	What is the actual size? Title says 12 x 12, description says 12 x 18 reversible
Answer:	The Hunter series knives use the standard Victorinox locking blade, same as the Rescue (versus the Delemont/Wenger knives that use the push-button logo blade release). Would not specifically call it one-handed closing, but it can be done without much hassle. :-)
Question:	Does this come in a walnut 18x12 block with wood feet
Answer:	Mine just came in a box, no storybook, I have the black handled version.
Question:	A guest mistakenly mistook my beautiful board as a carving board for a loaf of hot sourdough bread and gashed it up. How can I fix it
Answer:	Victorianox uses 12c27, which is somewhat similar to 440a from the usa, but with a very fine grain structure. its an excellent steel

The History of John Boos & Co

In 1887, Effingham, Illinois blacksmith Conrad Boos used a Sycamore tree placed on three legs while hammering horseshoes. Three years later, a local butcher realized a wooden Boos Block could be used for cutting meat, and had one custom made. Word spread to surrounding small towns and cities and by 1911, John Boos & Co was shipping custom butcher blocks from coast to coast. Throughout the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, John Boos expanded their production and product range to include tables and workbenches, the majority of which went to the war effort during WWII. Care and Maintenance

Keeping Your Board Sanitized:

Wash your John Boos cutting board with hot soapy water after each use and dry with a clean towel or let it air dry. For further sanitation, the board can be rinsed with a vinegar or chlorine bleach solution. (1 teaspoon bleach to one quart of water/5-to-1 ratio of vinegar to water) Do not soak the board in water, this will damage the wood. Like all natural wood cutting boards, John Boos boards are not intended for the dishwasher.

Maintaining Your Board:

Oil your cutting board on all surfaces every 3-4 weeks to maintain the original Boos block cream finish with beeswax. This quick task will protect and prolong the board’s life and ensure it is enjoyed for decades to come. John Boos recommends using John Boos Mystery Oil and/or John Boos Block Cream. Question:	can it be used to chop through pork or beef bones
Answer:	I don't believe that it is a good fit. The Spartan is only 3.6" per Victorianox's website whereas the SwissTool for which the pouch is made for is 4.5"
Question:	What’s the actual cutting surface size of the board
Answer:	The dimensions are approximate in inches - length, width, & height, respectively = 4.75 x 1.5 x 0.75.
Question:	How to clean it? Put it in machine will be OK

Question:	What if we chop and mince meat
Answer:	The loop is set up to hang in a vertical position ( with the flap on top ). To attach horizontally, I believe it would require an additional strap (perhaps a wide piece of velcro) that wraps around the belt and case belt loop.
