It was then, in 1814, that the WÜSTHOF tradition began. To this day, every WÜSTHOF knife is expertly crafted in the legendary 'City of Blades'.

Backed by a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty, it also has a bolster that acts as a finger guard and provides a solid balanced feel.
7" L
A moderately priced companion to Wüsthof's renowned Classic forged knives, this Gourmet series 8-inch bread knife has the same full-tang, three-rivet, virtually indestructible poly handle as Classic knives. Instead of being forged, however, Gourmet series blades are cut from steel sheets by precision lasers. That means they have no bolsters. But it also means they are perfectly shaped and fit handles seamlessly. And the blades' high-carbon stainless steel is identical to that of Wüsthof's premium knives, only thinner. The bread knife has a raised handle for comfort when slicing through crusty loaves, making it easier to cut cleanly through the bottom crust. The knife is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended to protect its edge. --Fred Brack

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come in a nice box? It is Christmas Gift |
Answer: | I’m a passenger, not rider so I can’t answer the shifting question. The toe is square but not chunky. The boots have a waffle bottom but they don’t feel heavy. I walked all around Old Town Temecula invthem and my feet didn’t hurt. |
Question: | What does recommend for sharpening the rounded or reverse scallops of this knife |
Answer: | I wear wide womens shoes (9.5 or 10) and decided based on the reviews to give these a try, but they were a little too narrow for me. Maybe being leather they would have broke in over time but I sent them back because I just can't bring myself to suffer through the break in period. Ordered a pair from Milwaukee Motorcycle Clothing that are a "c" width and they fit more comfortably. |
Question: | hos can deli knife be sharpened |
Answer: | It’s the waist the length is usually 34 I bought some for my husband and they fit him nice! He said they just shrink a bit with the dryer but once you wear them they kinda stretch out they’re nice jeans! They’ve lasted him the longest of all the jeans he’s had. They should fit the way you want it |
Question: | Title says 8 inch...descriotion says 7 inch. Which is it |
Answer: | You are correct the link in this question doesn’t allow for length but does have waist sizes. The same pants I bought allowed for both by scrolling to the right where the sizes are. See if there is another seller or link. BTW my son loves them so I bought him 3 in total |
Question: | How does this knife compare with the Wusthof 10" scalloped edge super slicer for cutting cakes and bread |
Answer: | Typically for men's jeans, first number is waist, 2nd number is leg (inseam). Usually, when just one number is listed, it is the waist, with a long leg that will likely need to be altered. I cannot comment on this particular par, as the are usually sold with 2 sizes listed. |
Question: | How does this knife do with softer breads, such as whole wheat or white sandwich bread? I've had trouble with serrated knives damaging the bread |
Answer: | Your search should allow what your exactly looking for |
Question: | whats the width of the blade from spine to edge at the base |
Answer: | No they dont. Great knife |

Answer: | Regarding the nonsense and ignorance of B. Angelo Burke: Gluten is the name for a type of binder in food, most notably wheat, soy, and others. The same chemicals that act the same in gluten, but are called by medical terms ARE found in medicine, and DO cause the same reaction in people with Celiac disease. Medicine in pill form need binders just as bread needs binders. BTW, this is a pharmacist. Answer: | The size is 9 inches or 23 centimeters. |
Question: | What is the length of the blade along the top |
Answer: | If by width you mean the distance between the edge and the spine of the blade it is close to one inch. I measured the width of ours as consistently 1 1/8" the length of the blade. So no, it is not 1 inch. |
Question: | Does this knife works on hard crusted round breads like sour dough bread or Focaccia breads? I want to make thin slices of these breads |

Answer: | My good man, I counted twice just for you. My count is 28 if you count the very tip of the blade. Enjoy. |

Question: | Wich is the difference between "serrated" and "double-serrated |
Answer: | I don’t care for those Tessa boots with all those zippers. I don’t know I bought the Bose for $109 and now they’re up to 170. They’re not worth 170. But they’re not bad boots. At $170 you’re at a higher rent boots and them waterproof insulated or just waterproof. These are A decent boot but way overpriced. I guess they put them on Amazon they got popular and they raise the price. You can go anywhere else and buy them cheaper. Unless they make them for Harley but something just like them. They are a very common style of Harley boot You can buy a similar pair at the dealership cheaper. They do have that little zipper which is kind a cool but how much are you really going to use it. Hope this helps |

Tackle that crusty italian loaf of bread with the Wusthof Classic Ikon bread knife. The long serrated edge cuts easily through thick crust without crushing the tender center. Wusthof Classic Ikon is culmination of all the best features of each of the Wusthof knife lines. The combined riveted handle design is combined with a contoured shape to add comfort and control. The Classic Ikon adds a rear bolster that acts as a counter balance when using the knife. This second bolster adds significant blade control. Classic Ikon has a unique forward bolster as well. The forward partial bolster is designed so you can sharpen the complete length of the blade. This bolster is also curvered inwards to allow your fingers greater control while holding the knife by the blade. Located in The Cutlery Capital of the World, Solingen Germany, the Wusthof factory history goes back as far as 1814 when the company was listed with the Duchy of Berg. To this day, the company remains family owned. Throughout it’s history, Wusthof has focused almost solely on the manufacturing of forged knives for the professional chef and home cooking enthusiast. Wusthof uses a special blend of German steel through out the whole length of the knife. The ingredients of this steel are proudly etched on each blade. Wusthof not only uses the best materials to make a fine knife, but it is also crucial that each blade is precisely tempered. This tempering allows the knife to hold its edge for an extremely long time, yet still be able to be maintained in your home kitchen with out the need to be sent away for maintenance. Our unique compound angle is not seen in many knives. This angle tapers from the spine of the knife to the edge to allow for a sturdy, yet extremely sharp edge while it also tapers from the bolster to the tip to give the knife strength as well as flexibility.

Answer: | I usually wear a 7 1/2 or an 8 and I ordered a 7 1/2. They fit perfect. I had also tried them on in a store before I purchased them from Amazon. |
Question: | what is the Rockwell hardness spec on this deli knife |
Answer: | They are okay for my feet. I do need arch support and they are comfortable and supportive for me, especially at the ankle. I would not hike in them. They are leather and would get scuffed up, unless you don't mind paying the HD price and then tearing them up. I'm not a hiker, not sure they are the best for climbing rough terrain. They are great boots, though. |
