Answer: | The seat is 12" from the floor. The top edge of the back of the chair is 22" high. The seat itself is 11" X 11".I have used this set aprx. 6 times with 2,3 and 4 year olds. It opens and closes easily, but has the locking mechanism so it does not collapse. I actually store all 4 chairs and the table under my sofa and loveseat. The vinyl cover could be heavier; so, I do watch the little ones so they do not dig into it with a toy or child's fork, for instance. Overall, very happy with it. Great for dinners, play-doh, coloring, and "tea parties:)" |

Answer: | My 6 year old grandson could just fit in a chair, but I think it is more about the size of the child rather than the weight, as the set has been used by other grandchildren ages from about 1 up to 6 very comfortably. The child's size is the determining factor. The chairs are very sturdy, will not collapse, and even some adults have trouble figuring out how to fold seats up until I show them the peg to press on the chair leg; chairs are very secure. I wouldn't advise an adult using it for a step stool, but all ages of preschool should have no problem sitting. The top of table & chairs is only lightly padded & table should be covered it for large art projects/placemats for meals to keep the surface intact, as "fabric" of chairs and table could be indented/cut if not used properly. It is a very charming set. |
