Secondly, it could be your seasoning flaked off from the wok. This could happens when they used poor quality carbon steel. My mom had a similar wok with different brand previously and this never happened before. I suggest you to contact the seller directly.

Question:	How good is it for the old school electric COIL stove? Will it take a long time to cook unlike using the same wok on gas stove
Answer:	It's deep enough to deep fry, but it's entirely too wide (14 inches dia) to get the depth of oil you would need. Would end up requiring the entire 64 oz bottle of oil. Easier to deep fry in a smaller deep pan, and use the wok to toss the fried chicken and veggies in the General Tso sauce.
