Answer:	I guess you could, but it's not really designed for that. It's tall and narrow like a stockpot, and really too tall to fit in the oven like a Dutch oven would. If you can't use a traditional cast iron Dutch oven, then you would probably be better off using a 6QT heavy aluminum stockpot.

Answer:	I hate to cop out on this answer, but it would depend on the ten year old, At that age I was over 5 feet tall and our family did outside catering, so maybe I am not the best judge of that. That said I love the pot, it replaced a larger Emirel's sp.? which was a little larger than it needed it to be. Pasta is definitely on the menu more often at our house since it arrived. I found it to be the perfect size to cook a 1 pound box, I haven't tried larger amounts of pasta since there is only 2 of us but it could probably handle larger amounts. I'm a tool guy and something of a cheapskate so it is unusual for me to break down and buy the "best" whatever but this is beautiful (My first piece of All Clad) and it is the right tool for the job. My best suggestion is to have the kid in question fill the pot at the sink (cold water weighs the same as hot) and see if they can carry it to the stove easily. It just occurred to me that I don't actually have to carry the pot, hot. When the past is cooked, I just carefully lift the insert and drain the pasta and tilt the insert towards me at an angle and rest it on the pot at an angle, and serve from there with tongs or as pasta grabber and let the pot cool on the stove before moving it to the sink. hope this verbose answer is helpful.

Answer:	Mine is 7 qt. About 8in ID and 7.5in height. With the insert it's about 10in tall, but that doesn't add usable volume.

Answer:	Yes, it says made in the USA and 7 qt on the bottom of the larger outside pot. I will say that the rivets where the handles are attached on the larger pot have poked through on the inside. I don’t know if that makes sense, trying to describe what I see as a bit of a defect. Overall, I am happy with the pasta pentola I like having the strainer insert and we cook a lot of pasta.

Answer:	Actually it's made in PRC, which is the People's Republic of China. Another review said that it was made in Germany, which I would have found more appealing. I was disappointed when I discovered this.

Answer:	It doesn't have any non-sticking agent that I am aware of. I bought this pot for boiling rice, pasta, and making soup, so non-stick was a non-issue. It's not a pot that I would cook anything with high temperatures unless it was just boiling liquids.

Answer:	I have a cup that I wanted to fit inside the pasta pot. It's the Keith Titanium 15.5 oz. mug with lid. The cup is 3 3/8 inches wide, which fits. But it is 4 3/16 inches tall, which is just a little too tall to fit inside the pasta pot with the lid on. If you can get the exact measurements for the mug you're interested in, this will hopefully give you an idea of whether it will fit.

Answer:	Not for a crowd. This is a small model, a pound. This really for two to four people. I also us it for vegetables. I is one of my most used pots, i love it. However do not use it for angel hair pasta, what a trial cleaning basket, it got stuck in all the holes. Also basket has a hook so it can be lifted and stays above water. Hope this helps.
Question:	I just purchased this 4.7 and cannot figure out the real inside diameter and inside height of pot. I see differing answers in reviews so far
Answer:	Hi Barb, I just measured it with a tape rule. There may be some confusion because there are two measurements: The pot itself and the removable, wire basket insert. The pot is exactly 8 7/8th inches deep from bottom to the top of the upper lip and 6 5/16th inches in diameter. The wire basket insert is 7 11/16th inches deep and 5 13/15th inches in diameter. It is the only piece of cookware I have that isn't All-Clad and while I don't use it very often simply because I don't need a pot of that shape/size very often, it is a well made, good piece of cookware and I'd highly recommend it.

Answer:	8.5 x 6.15 inch interior of pot. Mesh basket's interior is 7.75 x 5.5 inch. The basket has a handle that folds down out of the way of the top and a hook on the side that raises the basket 3 inches higher when rested on the top edge.

The 3-Ply Stainless Steel Viking 12 quart. Stockpot helps to achieve rolling boils in a shorter time than conventional stockpots due to the clad construction throughout the vessel. The 3-Ply Stainless Steel build allows the side of the vessel to transfer energy from the side walls as well as the bottom so that more of the pot is working to distribute heat quickly and evenly. Beautifully polished to a mirror finish the Viking stockpot is constructed with a three layers of metal - the exterior layer is a magnetic 18/0 stainless steel making this pot compatible with induction stovetops as well as gas, electric and ceramic. The next layer is an aluminum alloy to evenly and efficiently distribute the heat throughout the pot. The inner cooking layer is 18/8 surgical stainless steel that is easy to clean and non-reactive, making it an excellent surface for preparing acidic foods such as tomato based sauces. The combination of materials increases the heat transfer throughout the pan, making more efficient for cooking. The large capacity of the stockpot is ideal for preparing pastas, soups, stocks and more. The vessel's high walls minimize evaporation, making it ideal for slow simmering techniques. Question:	Is the lid oven safe? I hear the answers that the pan is- but the lid locks are plastic
Answer:	The lid is not glass, it’s a polycarbonate, so no the lid is not oven safe. Also, the locks are not on the lid, they are attached to the pot. They appear to be polycarbonate as well.
Question:	can it work on an electric stove top? The one with the black circle coils
Answer:	Yes. I have an old school electric stove and it works great. I love this pot. It's my new favorite.
