User questions & answers
Question: | What is outer diameter of wok without handles |
Answer: | Of course you can separate the pot from the base. Just make sure you remove the plug first and then kind of slide it out at an angle. When putting it back on, make certain you hear the snapping click to ensure that it is truly stable before cooking in it again. |
Question: | What is the wattage rating |
Answer: | Absolutely!!! Just leave the egg inside the shell and fry away..jk In a pinch you can line the pan with aluminum foil. |
Question: | What is the best electric wok |
Answer: | You may run into some trouble. - First of all, not all airplanes come with a 110 volt socket. Some have the 12 V "cigarette lighter" that you will find in cars, so you'll have to bring an inverter. - The second problem is the splatter. I got the stink eye from the person in the aisle row because my bacon splattered on him. Jerk. - Also, the flight attendants got mad when I started selling my hot Oregon Style Fried Chicken drumsticks up the aisle. Turns out that the "Friendly Skies" don't like competition. Beyond those instances it has turned out great. |

Sauce it, boil it, steam it, and simmer it with the versatile Farberware Classic Stack 'N' Steam Stainless Steel Saucepot and Steamer. From lobster pot to soup pot, this multipurpose cookware combo can be used with or without the steamer insert, and boasts a full cap base featuring a thick aluminum core surrounded by stainless steel for rapid, even heating on any stovetop, including induction. Heavy-duty stainless steel is polished to a mirror finish for a classic touch and the stacking steamer pot is dishwasher safe and oven safe to 350°F.
Functional as well as beautiful, this 3-quart saucepot and 2-quart steamer insert are made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The pot has an aluminum core in its base to spread heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pot and the steamer, the pot bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pot without dripping. Because the pot is 4-1/2 inches deep and comes with a tight-fitting, domed lid, it is roomy enough to simmer stocks and soups and can also be used for braising veal shanks or for cooking chili on the stovetop or in the oven. (The handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and stay cool on the stovetop.) The pot and steamer are dishwasher-safe and come with a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

User questions & answers
Question: | Amazon lists Proposition 65 warning on this wok. Does the wok have a dangerous coating on surface |
Answer: | Yes the purchase includes a steaming plate but I have not used it. That said I love this product and should anything happen to it I would purchase another. I cook from scratch and steamwith a pan specifically for steaming. I am sure this product would do well. Hope this helps... |
Question: | Has anyone ever used a wok with gas? If so, how does this electric one compare to that |
Answer: | Yes, the sliding dial goes from keep warm, 280F thru 480F. If you are cooking at a higher temp it does take time to cool down enough to just keep the food warm. I usually just turn the unit off a little before I remove the food. It takes a while to cool down especially if lid is left on. |
Question: | Does this wok have non-stick surface |
Answer: | I suggest go with the EP-RAC50. These pans were well made and worth every dollar you invest. They are easy to use/ care/ clean and I'm pretty sure they are durable, as I've been a loyal customer to Zojirushi's products for almost 20 years and each of their products lasts for a long time. Go with the higher grade and it will meet your need. (Plus you'll get a steaming plate) |
Question: | Does te cookling bowl detach from the base for cleaning? thank you |
Answer: | OK from the manual looks like shallow pan has part number BG347803G-00. So the answer is yes. It has 2 pans. |

Regarding steaming instructions, any recipe book or online inquiry will help. I like to steam broccoli and cauliflower vegetables and it takes about 20 minutes once water is boiling/hot. Also steam zucchini slices and Brussels sprouts. Just need to check on degree if softness every si often. Steaming fresh spinach takes about 5-6 minutes. Love the freshness of steamed vegetables. Healthy way to prepare them. Usually, steam vegetables ahead of time and always have some in the frig to re-heat ! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it made in the USA |
Answer: | Mine says made in Thailand. They also make them in China. As far as I understand, when Meyer Corporation bought Farberware in 1997 they stopped manufacturing in the USA. What a shame. |
Question: | What is the chromium/nickel ratio of this stainless steel |
Answer: | Suzie Q made a great point about it not being induction stove top compatible. This is not due to the stainless it's because this line of Faberware Stainless has what is called an aluminum clad bottom. Aluminum is not conductive with induction cooking. I've owned this line of Faberware by the way for over 40 years and it is still my favorite daily go to pans. Only negative is they quit making the 5 quart saucepan with likd like this. They make a 5quat deep fryer with holes in side for draining etc. and basket insert but that no longer works as a popcorn popper and my husband after 35 years of trying to convince to make popcorn in our stainless pans and stop the yearly popcorn popper concept his family would always feed him via bd and xmas gifts as it was his yet again request because most burned up within a years almost daily use. He finally took me up on my way and quickly became a FAN and stole my one and only 5Quart Faberware Classic pan...so I bought the deep fryer and it is never used. I found one used on Ebay and bought it but took 2 years of searching and entering it to be notified if one shows up. So now we have two and are no longer in almost daily battle as to who's pan is it. Females tend to FIX problems and compromise both the guys from Mar's just like to haggle:))) After 48 Years my job is to outsmart the guys from Mars and make it a WIN WIN for both sides. Love these pans and yes we do take good care of them. And use gas ranges. But they do not work with induction burners due to the aluminum clad bottoms which help distribute heat and avoid hot/cold spots. |
Question: | What are its dimensions? How tall/wide is it |
Answer: | 5 inches tall by 7 inches wide |
Question: | Is this made in China |
Answer: | I would like to know that answer too .I have searched extensively online and Amazon .I found out so far I can't afford USA cookware. The prices are $199 up to $600 . I only know I will NOT buy anything from China .....that is very difficult ! |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the stainless steel grade of this two pans |
Answer: | Functional as well as beautiful, this Fry Pan Set is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The pans have an aluminum core in its base to spread heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pan, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. |
Question: | Are these pans nickel free |
Answer: | Thank you for your inquiry. The Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 8.25-Inch and 10-Inch Twin Pack Skillet Set are 18/0, meaning 0% nickel content. We hope this information is helpful. |
Question: | Does a magnet stick to the bottom of the pans |
Answer: | Yes. Unlike the older version of Farberware pans when the aluminum bottoms were not covered with a layer of other metal as is the case with these. |
Question: | what is the difference between this generation of stainless farberware and the farberware |
Answer: | I have a complete set of Farberware Classic from 1972 and another from 2014. Those from 1972 are aluminum clad. The thick bottoms are a dull finish. These have held up great, and are still in use. The bigger 1972 pots have a slightly larger diameter than the 2014 ones. In other words, the lids are not interchangeable with the newer generation. The 2014 pans have basically the same quart capacities. They are a bit taller and the diameter is a bit smaller. These seem to fit better on the smaller ceramic/induction cook-tops. They are also very flat which is required by these newer burners. If you are using a gas range, you will be fine either way. The 2014 pots have an aluminum disk that is attached to the bottom of the pans. The new disk is coated in stainless steel and will remain shiny. I do not use non-stick skillets. Both generations of the Farbersware stainless pots, pans & skillets are quality made and heavy. Again the 2014 diameters are slightly smaller. If you are mixing sets, remember that the lids will not be interchangeable. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I need the glass lid to fit my Oneida pot. The dim. is 8 and 1/2 across |
Answer: | The lid is EXACTLY 7 7/8 inch across with a 1/8 inch lip. So measure your pan from inside edge to inside edge. If it is between 7 7/8 to 8 inches it should fit perfectly. The Circulon pan I have is actully a 8 1/2 pan also, but the inside edges are 8 inches apart exactly and the lid fits like it was made for the pan. Hope that helps :) |
Question: | Does this lid fit the Teflon-coated skillet or the stainless steel skillet |
Answer: | Both the 8 inch and 10 inch lids fit my T-Fal "coated" 8 and 10 skillets...As to the stainless steel skillet, I don't know since my stainless skillet is a different brand...The inside rim of the lids fit inside the diameter of the pans and leave slight "wiggle" room...I have found that the fit is tight enough for the lid to collect steamy moisture during cooking and seals enough that contents do not boil out from under the lid...I have been pleased with the performance of these lids...I was grateful to find them...The outer rim of the lid rests on the outer edge of the skillet and this is where the "seal" is on my pans...I hope this helps! |
Question: | inch lid, can someone measure the diameter of the sealing ring (outside to outside) that fits into the pan? Thank you |
Answer: | I no longer have the "10-inch" lid because I returned it. But I just now measured my 10" Farberware frying pan, and it is exactly 10" in diameter, at the top. When I bought the so-called 10" lid, it was less than 10" in diameter, because the whole lid did not sit on top of the fry pan, but it went down inside of the 10" Farberware frying pan. The diameter of the lid was too short to fit the fry pan. |
Question: | what is the actual diameter of the cover , I have a tfal fry pan that's a little more than 12 inches, can anyone help me |
Answer: | The actual maximum outside diameter is 12 1/8 or 12 3/16 inches. The other important measurement is what I will call the "drip ring" This is the inner ring that goes straight down from the glass dome about 1/4 inch and prevents lid moisture from going to the outer edge. The drip ring diameter is just over 11 5/8 inches. I bought this for a Tramontina 12" fry pan which I love by the way. The Tramontina pan has a max diameter of 12 3/4 inches and the lid fits entirely inside rather than just the drip ring. But is fine in this case. The main thing is the drip ring fitting inside the pan and the slightly smaller lid not dropping too far into the pan. The entire height of the lid is about 2 3/4 inches. |
