User questions & answers
Question: | How much power does this knife have (so I can compare it with other electric knives |
Answer: | The knife has hollows on BOTH sides. Two of the four product pictures on Amazon.com are misleading since they appear to show a side of the knife in questuon without the hollows. As such, these images should probably be removed from the listing since they are clearly not depictions of this particular knife. |
Question: | How easy is this knife to hold the button while slicing? I have a hamilton beach now and as it warms up the on button gets hard to push. It's brand new |
Answer: | Yes. Typically I've seen sushi chefs using a Santoku for this, but I have cut sashimi (tuna blocks) with this meat slicer and it works fine. Thin and very sharp blade, with scalloped hollow edge helps prevent fish & meat from sticking. If you can find one for under a $100, I think it's a good deal. Shun also makes a number of Santoku hollow edge knives, from under a $100 to over $200, more traditional for preparing sushi. |
Question: | The electric sharpener stop working after I slice one loaf og bread! Why |
Answer: | Hand sharpen on a stone or take it to a pro. |
Question: | Should we buy replacement blades or get an knife sharpener |
Answer: | The knife dimensions are 1 5/16 inches wide at its widest point near the handle. The blade is 9 1/2 inches long where is starts to flare out at the handle which is where it would sit in a knife block. From that flare point the handle is 5 inches long. From its point to the very back of the handle is 14 5/8 inches. This is a beautiful knife and extremely sharp so always be very careful. A simple careless slip can leave you with a nasty cut. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are they dishwasher safe |
Answer: | Hi there, you probabably bought your knives by now, but.... Any knife person would tell you to never put knives in the dishwasher, whether they tell you it's dishwasher safe or not, it will destroy the blades. But if you are a "knives in the dishwasher" person, these would do no better or worse than any other knife. Just my 2 cents. |
Question: | regarding knives (especially chef knife): blades are strong and do not bend -- right? strong / heavy set of knives? thnx |
Answer: | yes, I love these knives! not light but not super heavy, I think they are a great weight. |

Question: | Do these knives require sharpening? (2) Are there blade covers or protectors? Thanks |
Answer: | 1) yes they will probably need sharpening at some point. 2) Yes each knife has a blade cover. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will these rust like stainless steel knives do, even with the ceramic coating? I'm looking for ceramic steak knives, and these say ceramic coating |
Answer: | I have owned these knives for about 8 months, they are always washed in the dishwasher, I don't what the coating is made of but the knives are fantastic and show no signs of rust |
Question: | Do these have covers for the blade portion of the knife |
Answer: | Sorry, they don't. I do hand wash them so the blades have stayed pretty pristine, but being in the draw with other steak knives has put a couple of scratches on them. Nothing serious though. Looks like normal wear and tear. |
Question: | Where are these knives made in |
Answer: | They are made in China |
Question: | are these dishwasher safe |
Answer: | I have only had them for about 3 weeks but I use them in my dishwasher with out any issues as of yet |

Answer: | It's part of the blade. It does not chip off. Best knives I've had in a long time! |
Question: | are these knives magnetic? I want to be sure they will hold to my knife bar before buying |
Answer: | Its not a coated stainless steel, looks and feels like ceramic |
Question: | What is the pattern coating? Is it like paint or plastic over the blade? Will the pattern chip off |
Answer: | They are true ceramic, not coated steel. I am incredibly happy with them, and it was definitely a great purchase. I have not touch my steel knives since and they are each still razor sharp. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Someone asked if they steak knives were serrated. The answer was no so why does the picture show them to be |
Answer: | It's labeled for hair and body. Face complexion is delicate and different for everyone, so I don't know how you'd get a good answer for that. FWIW, when I wash my hair, some of the oil gets on my face, and I haven't observed any reaction good or bad to that. |
Question: | Why is the 15 piece set more expensive than the 16 piece |
Answer: | Camellia oil doesnt have a floral smell. It is a seed oil for skin care, not a fragrance oil. For natural fragrance you have to look for essential oils or hydrosols. |
Question: | How do I go about getting a new pair of household shears for this set? Mine broke |
Answer: | Thank you for reaching out to us. If you pour the oil into a clear glass container you will see it retains its golden color. Please let us know if we can help further. Thank you, Sweet Essentials |
Question: | The pic shows black handles but it says stainless. Do they actually have the black handles? Im refering to the 16 piece set |
Answer: | I was skeptical since I have oily patches that break out and also dry patches on my face. However, in 4 months of use I can report only good results. Try it on a small area first, if you're wary, and see how it goes. I also use rosehip oil on my face and use the two interchangeably. Argan oil gives probably the most dramatic results, but I don't use it on my face because it burns terribly if it gets into your eyes. I save the argan for hands, nails, hair. |
