User questions & answers
Question: | Will this fit inside an emeril 360 air-fryer |
Answer: | Mine arrived, yesterday, and it smells VERY strongly of something like washing powder. Washing and airing didn’t remove it and I baked it at 160 degrees (convection) for 10min and the smell went through the house, even with the back door and window were open (in kitchen). It’s not 100% silicone, so the smell is likely to be from the plastic used as the filler. I’m disgusted with OXO and won’t be purchasing anything else with their brand name on it. |

Product description
Designed from the inside out for today’s lifestyles, our Cuisinart Cookware combines uncompromising superior cooking performance with a professional look. You'll enjoy a lifetime of healthy cooking with your Cuisinart Cookware. Cast iron is recognized as one of the best materials for cookware because of its ability to retain heat and provide even heat distribution. Care & Maintenance: Oven Use: Pans are oven safe to 500°F. Caution should be used when handling any cookware handles. Always use potholders to grip side handles or cover knobs, as they will become hot. Serving: Place hot pans on trivet or wooden board when serving. Never place a hot pan directly on an unprotected surface. Cooking Utensils: To protect and preserve the surface of the pans, use only wooden, plastic or heat-resistant nylon kitchen tools to avoid scratching the enamel interior. We do not recommend using metal utensils as they may scratch pan’s surface (but will not impair its performance). Do not cut food directly in the cookware. You may use hand blenders or mixers directly in the cookware; may scratch pan interiors, but pan’s performance will not be affected.

User questions & answers
Question: | do the handles on the pans get hot to the touch while cooking |
Answer: | In my experience, it depends on how high you're cooking. At normal general temps, the handles on the pots and pans themselves are generally not too hot to the touch, but if you cook with the lids on the whole time, the lid handles will need to be removed using a potholder. |
Question: | Do the lids fit over the frying pans |
Answer: | 1 lid (the largest) fits on the two biggest frying pans but the smaller lids don't fit on the small frying pans . |
Question: | Is this set |
Answer: | SKH .. PART 2 OF 2 .. Cuisinart 77-17N - is set 18/10? This is an enlightening article. Copyright © 2013-2016 CenturyLife.Org ... Link: https://www.centurylife.org/in-depth-product-review-cuisinart-multiclad-pro-aka-mcp-or-multiclad-professional-tri-ply-professional-stainless-steel-12-inch-skillet-30-cm-frying-pan/ ----------------- Sometime around 2010 Cuisinart stopped advertising Multiclad Pro (MCP) as SAE 304 (18/8 or 18/10 stainless steel; the 18 refers to 18% chromium, and the 8-10% refers to 8-10% nickel). Amazon still hasn’t updated their product description; it still says 18/10 there. I contacted Cuisinart for clarification, but they wouldn’t tell me exactly what stainless grade they use now. Note 1: As an aside, many companies that advertise 18/10 stainless use something more like 18/8.3 stainless and round way up to 18/10. Note 2: 18/8 or 18/10 stainless is strong and rust-resistant, which is why high-end cookware usually uses it Note 3: we can be fairly confident that Cuisinart is using at least SAE 202/204 (18/4) stainless in Multiclad Pro, since MCP is Cuisinart’s highest-end product line, and the interior of MCP is not strongly magnetic Note 4: almost all stainless steel cookware made today (including All-Clad -and- Cuisinart Multiclad Pro) is made with a bottom-most layer of SAE 400-series (18/0) stainless in order to be induction-compatible. That’s because the addition of small amounts of nickel in stainless makes the steel less magnetic, so you can’t use 18/4, or 18/8, or 18/10 stainless on the bottom and still be induction-compatible Note 5: 18/0 is still fairly rust-resistant–it survives dishwashers without rusting–but try to avoid letting your stainless pots sit in puddles of water for days on end. Note 6: note that the rivets on Cuisinart MCP have stainless interior caps, but the exterior is aluminum, so if you clean the rivets a lot (especially if you run MCP through the dishwasher a lot), the outside part of the rivets will look less shiny. The dullness is purely cosmetic. ========================================= 42 reviews (Positive, Style Name: Cookware Set|Size: 17-Piece) .. 4 or 5 star. Question: | I don't see a list of what is included in this set. Is that a 1 qt saucepan, a 1.5 qt saucepan, what |
Answer: | The previous description is inaccurate for the 17 piece set. I ordered and received the 17 piece set and it includes one each of the following items:8-Q stock pot w/lid;4-Q Dutch oven w/lid;3-Q sauce pan w/lid;2-Q sauce pan w/lid;steamer insert that fits both the 3-Q & 2-Q sauce pans;1-Q sauce pan w/lid;3.5-Q saute pan w/lid;12" skillet w/lid;10" skillet;8" skillet. The 10" & 8" skillets DO NOT have lids. Question: | In the break down it says the material type is stainless steel but the write up says cast iron for the ci670-30bg which is it |
Answer: | I bought the dutch oven and it is porcelain enameled inside. The red fryer description says exterior porcelain enamel so the answer to your question is "no". |
Question: | Can any long time users of this pot tell us if it developed chipped enamel inside? If so, how long did it take |
Answer: | Cuisinart CI45-30CR Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 12-Inch Chicken Fryer with Cover holds 4.25 quarts according to the manufacturer information. |
Question: | can this be used for braising |
Answer: | The lid on mine is smooth inside and coated just as the inside of the pot itself is. There is the edge around the point of contact with the pot itself, and a screw through the center to hold the handle (I replaced the screw on mine from as received with a stainless steel screw, it was just a better fit.) Hope that helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what is diameter of the pot |
Answer: | I made chili in mine as soon as I got it, and I browned 2lb of meat as the first thing I did ... 1lb. ground chuck (85% / 15% fat) and 1lb. ground pork ... and then obviously many other ingredients, but it came out fine. I would think you can brown just about anything you wanted in it... Not sure why you couldn't? |
Question: | For the 3 quart round covered casserole, that is the measurement of the top opening across the middle (diameter |
Answer: | Yes. I use mine on a flat top electric range all the time with no problems. I allow it to heat on medium heat and it's good to go! |
Question: | Can this pot be used in a microwaveoven |
Answer: | Yes, they are made overseas, not in the USA. I've had my pan for 7 years now...and it's used weekly, and more often in the winter months. I was a bit disappointed when it came and I realized it wasn't made in the USA but decided to give it a chance. After 7 years of hard use I can honestly say it's the best pot I have ever owned! It's discolored a bit, not surprising with the amount of use it gets and all the soups stews and roasts I make in it throughout each year. But that hasn't affected the pot at all. It is just a good as it was when I first bought it. I'm going to try the 1 cup baking soda and 4 cups water trick (boil 5 min let sit with the lid on for 2 hours) that I read about in one of the other questions to see if it will return to it's original beige coloring, but even if it doesn't, it's still going to be my "go to" pot for everything I can use a dutch oven for :-) I highly recommend this pot, even though it's not made in the USA! |
Question: | what is the maximum oven temperature? Does the manufacturer have recommendations / hesitations about "under the broiler |
Answer: | That is because it is cast iron. Every so often, you need to "season" it, which is what makes the surface slick. The basic process is coating the exposed iron in high-heat oil, and heating it to a very high temperature for about an hour. There is a bit more to it, but just look up "how to season cast iron". The oil you rub in and heat onto it fills the porous surface of the iron and makes it non-stick. To clean cast-iron surfaces, you don't want to submerge in water or use soap on it. It is best to clean right after using, and overall just scrub any residual gunk off. You don't even need water, usually! If you use a bunch of soap and water on your pot, it will just ruin the coating, and you will need to re-season it. If you take care of your cast iron though, it will be with you for life! :) http://www.seriouseats.com/2016/09/how-to-season-cast-iron-pans-skillets-cookware.html |

User questions & answers
Question: | How many layers of enamel? The expensive brands have 3 and resist chipping better than ones with a single layer |
Answer: | Yes it is |
Question: | Where is this product made |
Answer: | Yes it is but unlike some, the lid of this Dutch oven cannot exceed 450F which for me was too low as some bread recipes I make required 500F. |
Question: | Does it have enamel coating on the inside as well as the outside |
Answer: | I have a flat top stove, and own two of these Cuisinart Dutch Ovens. They ARE flat, and work perfectly! Maybe that customer received an imperfect one? Don't know, but I TOTALLY LOVE my two!! |
Question: | What is the maximum temperature this Dutch oven is rated for? 450f? 500F |
Answer: | Yes it works awesome as a soup pot/dutch oven. I bought it for my daughter and she loves it! She cooks all the time trying new recipes and usually uses it at least once a week to make a stew or soup in during the fall and winter. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can I stack the pots |
Answer: | They are very hard to stack because of their lids. The lids do fit nice and tight on each pan BUT when you flip it upside down to have the handle out of the way, for a nice flat surface to stack, the lid slides off causing a tumble. We stack the pots and pans only (no lids) and place the lids on the side. It's not space friendly but they didn't compromise on these for storing ease..... Wish we could of had both |
Question: | Why are mine yes-stick and black after the first use? I have been boiling them with dish washer to see if i can remove the stains with no luck at all |
Answer: | The blackness is charred glazing from whatever your cooking. To prevent or minimize, heat the pan slowly with low heat and a little oil. For cleaning, Bar Keepers Friend is great. Other things you might have on hand are cream of tartar, and or vinegar. My personal favorite is using wine while the pan is still hot. Wine is an excellent deglazing tool, and depending on what you’re cooking can add flavor, if done while the food is still in the pan. Happy cooking! |
Question: | Have any of you considered the multi-ply set from Cooks Standard and Tramontina? If so, what made you choose Cuisinart? I'm having trouble deciding |
Answer: | UPDATE: Comparing Cuisinart, Tramontina and Cooks Standard triply clad stainless steel cookware. In checking further professional reviews, I realised that there were a couple of errors in the information in my original review, below. Tramontina is manufactured in both Brazil and China. The triply clad cookware is ALL triply clad stainless. Another model is their gourmet prima, which looks very similar, but has only the triply base. Tramontina tested out positively against both Cuisinart and Cooks Standard in three cases, and both its triply and prima models beat out Cuisinart altogether. Cooks Standard was not a contender in the latter review. The main selling point for Tramontina over Cuisinart and Cooks Standard is quality, design and efficiency. Cuisinart and Cooks Standard both have flared rims, making pouring better. Cooks Standard is thought to lack beauty. However Cuisinart’s handles are poorly designed, stay too hot and have a point which can cut into the hand. Tramontina triply only offers the flared rims on its skillets. Their Prima model offers it throughout. Regardless of that drawback, Tramontina is consitldered a superior product in the three areas tested. In view of these clarifications and additional information, I have since decided to purchase the Tramontina cookware, over the Cuisinart. I do apologize for the original review errors, and hope that this additional information is as helpful to other buyers as it has been for me! baj |
Question: | Will it work on induction cooktops |
Answer: | Stainless, cast iron and enameled cookware generally ok. Some cladded pans as well. Goodwill got all my old aluminium. Be cautious of sizes of the bottom of the pan. My LG induction top has three sizes and too big or too small just will not turn burner on. Perhaps as it should be, I guess. But check your cooktop's manual for any word on pan sizes. |
