Answer:	1 max loaded teaspoon per cup + 1 teaspoon for the pot. Now you have to define the volume of your "cup.". Some coffee lots state 6 oz is a " cup. ". This is dinky. My volume "cup" is a good size mug, about 10-12 oz.I I also wad up a piece of aluminum foil and jam it into the pouring spout ( I have an 8 and 12 cup stove top percolator: Farberware Yosemite). I use enough aluminum foil to have a "handle" I can grab to remove before pouring. What is the purpose for my aluminum foil spout plug? It greatly reduces vapor loss during percolating. You may START with 3-4 mugs of water, but if you forget about the coffee pot, you will quickly boil off a mug of water and change the flavor/strength. Set a simple timer for 6-8 minutes of percolation time, or about 16-18 total minutes from the time you apply heat. For coffee? I like Maxwell House Columbian. Tried many other brands, and "high end" designer / coffee snob beans. I keep coming back to Maxwell House Columbian. I have stopped searching for coffee.

I replace what is served with hot, boiling water directly into the basket to extend the grounds as I start with a full basket of an extra dark, gourmet blend. Answer:	I just bought this to replace my electric percolator. I saw that many people had answered this question positively. I checked the Yosemite bottom with a magnet and the magnet did not stick but never-the-less it still worked on my Duxtop Induction cooktop. The manufacturer says the bottom was 18/0 stainless which is suitable for induction which is, I'm sure, why it works. I tested it against my regular glass top electric range top the water boiled about twice as fast on the induction cooktop. My method ended up being to set the induction cooktop to high until the water boils then turn down the power to 2 (500W, 180 degrees F) and let perc for 6-7 mins. Worked like a charm.

OK, there only $6.50. buy two right! Well the last one to break I call the company for a couple replacements. They don't just sell the knobs anymore you have to purchase the whole lid for $17.00. I told them to forget it. Buy a pot that has a glass knob! Spend the extra money.

Answer:	No, it does not re-percolate after the first cycle. If you leave it plugged in after finishing, it is essentially just a hot plate that keeps the coffee warm. It will not percolate already hot coffee. If you want it to percolate the same coffee more, it has to be cooled all the way back down somehow. This basically defeats the ENTIRE PURPOSE of a percolator in the first place. It essentially is a drip coffee maker with a water heater, and takes away any control you have over how long it percolates or how strong it can make coffee. That is why there is a clear knob on top, so we know to KEEP it percolating. With this one, we can't. So what's the clear knob even for? It is a complete joke.

Answer:	According to the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service, at sea level, water boils at 212 °F. With each 500-feet increase in elevation, the boiling point of water is lowered by just under 1 °F. At 2,000 feet above sea level the boiling temperature of water is 208 °F instead of 212 °F. At 7,500 feet water boils at about 198 °F. Because water boils at a lower temperature at higher elevations, foods that are prepared by boiling or simmering will cook at a lower temperature, and it will take longer to cook. To compensate for the lower boiling point of water, the cooking time must be increased. Turning up the heat will not help cook food faster. Answer:	I found this to be the best method for filtration and eliminating grounds in the pot. 1) Use 12 cup basket filters. 2) Wet the inside bottom of the basket and run water through the percolator stem. 3) Center paper filter over basket stem and punch wet percolator stem down through filter and hole in basket stem. 4) Push filter to bottom of wet basket to adhere. 5) Drizzle water from tap along sides of paper filter/basket and press ruffled paper to flatten against the wet sides of basket. 6) Add desired amount of coffee and start brewing. I've never had a problem with grounds in my coffee since... enjoy!

Answer:	Only want STAINLESS STEEL... No plastics, NO ALUMINUM... Does this fit the bill... Any Aluminum or Plastic touching what is ingested - no deal.
Question:	How is the plastic knob attached to the top? Is it screwed in from under the top or welded? You input and/or pic would be greatly appreciated
Answer:	Grew up on perked coffee in the 70's before ADC (auto drip coffeemakers). Every store shelf coffee was with a bigger grind of coffee back then for the percolaters. Everything now is switched over to ADC coffee grounds. Too small a grind. Leaves coffee grounds in the perked coffee. Need a bigger grind. Let's e-mail coffee companies to make percolator size grounds again. Maxwell House used to be the standard. You can also search and view "maxwell house ADC coffee commercial" that I grew up with when they changed the coffee cans in the store over to the ADC type of coffee that we have today. They had big ADC letters plastered on the coffee cans to advertise the changeover. Slowly the percolator grind faded away :(

Answer:	All stainless steel.
Question:	What's the voltage in this percolator? I want it for use in Europe and would rather have it at 220V. Otherwise I'll have to use a transformer
Answer:	It does turn itself off after awhile which is a safety feature. I never timed how long it takes the percolator but I think it's relatively fast.

Answer:	YES there is 2 round small silicon-looking parts that hold the handle on,as they just HAD to put a water indicator in the handle. For this reason and this reason ONLY, I did not make this a purchase. It did however havea GLASS bubbler at top. Lid area is small and if you have large hands, youmay not be able to get inside to clean or whatever. I took one out of its boxand the local CHINA store (W-mrt) and looked. I could have overlooked the small lid opening, but NOT the plastic silicon. I'm STILL on a coffee percolatorquest. Apparently there is one model here on Amazon that has over 1000 reviews,and it has a avg 4.9 rating : ) (approx)...YET...NO GLASS Knob to SEE it percolate.WHY would a brand DO this? I am finding over and over again, that they are DOING THIS to us consumers....on PURPOSE!!!am getting VERY discouraged....
