Question:	Is there a "window" to see how much water is poured from the exterior
Answer:	No. You do not want that anyway, since it will be plastic touching the water. Unless they make it of glass, but then price will go up.

Answer:	It is about 2 feet 11 inches. I have my pot close to the outlet and the great thing is that at the base of the holder you can wrap the cord around to avoid loose cord. I love that feature. The product is fantastic. It hold a lot of water, the inside is stainless steel and the product is exactly as advertised and more. It heats the water in no time and it is not hot to touch the outside. It is sleek and modern and the black color is beautiful. Everyone in my family loves it.

Answer:	The cord is attached to the heating plate which the kettle sits on to heat the water. When the kettle is taken off the heating plate there is no cord to dangle. We often take the kettle to another room without the heat plate just to have hot water handy. Its a grat looking kettle and is presentable for guests.

Answer:	My understanding is the exterior is also 18/10 Stainless Steel but is COATED with a plasticized finish for higher endurance that the typical paint or lacquer you find on most SS appliances & insulated bottles that chip & scratch off with very little effort at all. It would be really nice if the manufacturer would respond to verify this as, if they did change to a plastic exterior without changing the listing, description, & features & info sections it would be blatant false advertising & grounds for immediate, free return for a full & unconditional refund. Answer:	The surveillance tech is designed into this kettle via the borosilicate glass sides. It is not full surveillance; you can surveil the boiling water only from the sides, but you do have a nearly 360-degree view of the interior. A top-down approach using a surveillance drone in your kitchen will not give you a good view. The stainless steel will obstruct the view and possibly shield the water from EM and other scans that could provide realtime information about the state of the boil. IR-capable drones will be relatively useless; they will net you only a blurry image in which the kettle is centered. Nor will using a robotic rodent, mule, or other "leggy" drone work well to attempt to surveil the kettle from below. Trust me. I've worked in this field for years. Such robotics have trouble insinuating themselves in the narrow gap -- 1 mm or less -- between the counter and the bottom of this particular kettle's base. (Other manufacturers have designed kettles much more accommodating to surveillance activities and today's drone and micro-electronic scanning technologies.) Answer:	"BPA free" is a gimmick. This and all the electric I have seen have this problem. Some stove top teapots do not have plastic at all and I would recommend those.
Question:	I'm reading mixed reviews on how quickly this kettle boils water. How long does it take your kettle to heat up 1.5L of water
Answer:	This is about the 7th electric kettle that I have owned over 30+ years. I love it. It takes the same time to boil as all the others I've had. I have never timed it, but it is much quicker than boiling water on the stove, and my stove is gas. Being able to view the water inside the glass makes me feel it looks fresher, and the blue lights that glow while it is heating water is comforting. I have owned kettles that cost a lot more than this one, but I believe this one is my favorite. I chose the green and it is so cheerful in the kitchen.
Question:	Is the metal in the bottom encased in glass or does the water touch the metal
Answer:	My 1.8L stainless steel and glass unit has a steel bottom. A silicon gasket is used to seal the joint between the glass and the steel base. It appears that the same type of silicone gasket is used to seal the glass rim to the stainless steel collar at the top of the unit. As long as the unit was designed and assembled properly, the existence of the silicone gasket is not a concern to me, because silicone gaskets and O-rings have a service temperature range of negative 100 degrees Fahrenheit to positive 400 degrees Fahrenheit. I did notice, however, that the stainless steel collar has surface rust on the inside of the lip, around the rim. Most, but not all, of the rust can be wiped off with a paper towel. I have to decide if I want to live with a small amount of surface rust, which does not affect functioning and which is not visible from the outside of the unit, or if I want to spend time and money researching and testing rust removers.
