| Answer: | All of these types of machines will have a small amount of overflow water that leaks into the drip tray. If it’s excessive, there may be an issue, most of which can be fixed yourself. The drip tray should be emptied after each use as the liquid will accumulate and eventually spill over. It’s not exclusive to this machine, it’s all expresso machines designed like this, including other brands. I use to have a Lattisama that I thought was broken, but it turns out it was completely normal. | Answer: | I would not expect the Phillips 3200 Series to be a workhorse for a large party without filling water reservoir several times because the water reservoir isn't that large. The tank holds approximately 8 cups of water. I've also noticed when the water line gets down to four cups of water left in the tank, the Phillips 3200 asks for more water to be added. I assume that's because of the AquaClean water filter inserted inside the water tank, because the top sits at the four cup line. I think it would be perfect for four people having small cups of coffee. My husband and I have enjoyed the Phillips 3200 Series very much, we normally have about one 18oz. cup cappuccino. I hope this has helped you. |

| Answer: | We bought our first Gaggia Brera in 2014. It was perfect for 5 years. We had no issues with grinding, and after much daily use, the machine wore out, and we purchased a new one in 2019. YIKES! The amount of money that we have wasted on beans is insane. Unfortunately, the grinder will grind up a full shot of beans and then reject them, so each time this happens, money is dumped out. Much worse, to buy such an expensive machine and then be forced into only very particular brands of coffee is unfair to the consumer. We love a number of independent roasters, and this machine's grinder sensor will accept one bag of beans and reject the next of the exact same brand. We did some research and found that most Italian companies are using the same sensors on their grinders, so this is an issue in many fully-automatics. Gaggia, I beg of you to rectify this problem. You have an excellent machine, but this one issue ruins the whole thing. We are considering junking this machine after 10 months of use. Sending it for repairs doesn't solve the sensor issue, and the repairs (even under warranty) are extremely costly because of shipping. |
