1. Water does not pump fast enough to make an espresso

A. The pump is a 15 Bar pressure. Please do not ramp the coffee too hard.



2. Burns the coffee.

A. Please calibrate the machine before use.





3. After a couple of cups of coffee the pressure became 0.

A. The pressure has to be built up before each coffee is made to get the right temperature



4. I'm not happy with the steam process of this machine. It boils rather than steaming and foaming the milk.

A. Please clean the steam wand especially the small hole that let air in and create the foam.





5. Water drips from the underside of the tank.

A. The tank must be fully inserted otherwise some water can pass through the seal





6.  Coffee basket sticks and is difficult to turn.

A.  When unit is new the turning is more strong but with usage it get loosen up.

Answer:	Don't buy this! It didn't last us a year. When you get an espresso machine, you can use any coffee. It's the grind that matters. Use an espresso grind.
Question:	is it possible to fill only one espresso cup at a time with this
Answer:	Yes....as long as the single expresso cup has a lip diameter that is greater than the distance of the two drain spouts. I'd measure that distance for you except that I somehow inexplicedly lost my complete coffee grinds strainer mechanism!
Question:	What's the difference between this and the De'Longhi EC155 model (which is currently $20 cheaper
Answer:	1) The ec220 looks like a $150 machine and the ec155 looks like a $50 machine, 2) the ec220 has about 1.5 inches greater clearance than the ec155 and lets you use regular mugs, and even some tall mugs if you remove the drip tray. I have taken both machines apart and can vouch they are both the same internally. I found the ec220 for less, but I would still spend the extra $20 on the ec220. That said, I would get the Poemia black for $120 if I could go back in time. :-)
Question:	Has any one used this for more than 6 months without the pump failing. Keep hearing that it fails
Answer:	It uses an ulka pump that is used in pretty much 99% of espresso machines, including $2000 machines. This one will last if you take care of it. First thing, one minute on and then one minute off. Run it for 5 minutes straight and it will not last very long. This goes for every vibratory pump, not just ulka. Second, must descale the machine every month, no matter what kind of water is used. There is a difference between a descaler and a cleaner. Many people don't know this. A descaler will contain primarily citric acid. You can also use straight, pulp free, lemon juice. You can not use vinegar in espresso machines, it will ruin the gaskets. I would bet that 99% of people whose pumps have failed, did not take care of their machines correctly.

Answer:	Make sure you use one of the supported models. It doesn't actually puncture the metal: it's designed to miss the puncturing mechanism. But again, check to see if your unit is listed as supported. I was a little scared when I first tried it haha. But it works fine. My only gripe is you can't fit very much coffee into these. If you haven't bought a machine yet, I recommend the Vertuo series of Nespresso and get a reusable pod for one of those because you can get reusable pods that hold twice the coffee (~11-12g).

Answer:	My Nespresso machine tells me the instructions (100 ml solution to 500 ml water) as soon as I begin the descaling process. Of course I always forget this and waste time searching the internet every time I need to descale.
Question:	Will this work on an EC
Answer:	In no uncertain terms, yes, though with caution in doing so. The correct dilution is one dose, (5 doses in bottle) per liter of water. The big worry is whether it removes TOO MUCH scale at once which could cause the internal valves or hoses to clog. If it is already clogged it probably won't work as it has to get through the water circuit to work. If it still does have flow, depending on usage history, amount of minerals in your water and descaling history, (if any) it could blast too much scale loose at once. Depending on the combinations of the variables it would probably be conservative on the dose and do it several times. And when doing so do it slowly and allow a couple of minutes for the solution to steep inside the channels by starting flow, pausing for a couple of minutes, starting flow again , over a course of 12 to 15 minutes. The solution as the machine is designed is meant to flow through the tap valve and not the coffee head. Then rinse with a full container of clean water after descaling

Answer:	I find this brand to work well and I can taste the coffee brand I use with them. However, i do notice that the first blast of water seems to result in the darkest thicker coffee brew and then toward the end of the stream it gets to be clear water. But if you watch the original nespresso pods they work the same way. I think the key is probably how much you tamp the coffee down in the holder, it is meant to be packed tightily and when I do that you can hardly get the plug out, so it obviously goes through and gets all the coffee wet. So yes this is a good brand...and you no matter what brand you get you need to fill it , tamp it and pack it tightly and any holder wil work better with an espressor grind rather than normal coffee grind.
