Answer:	You can put a larger cup right in front (but not inside) the machine, and use a much larger--including 12 oz--cup. I do that alot--no need to remove the pieces inside the machine. You can also program this machine easily to give you the volume you prefer (I have programmed my for 8 oz). But if you like really strong coffee, you might not want to do that.
Question:	Do the used cup go into a storage container within the machine
Answer:	Yes, when you lift the lever, the used capsules fall into a container below. It fits about 6 capsules. The container slides out like a drawer for emptying/cleaning.

Question:	Do I have a defective machine? The latch that is attached to the filter basket makes it impossible to completely lock the filter in place
Answer:	I had a similar problem and was about to resolve it. The portafilter has a very tight locking mechanism to the main unit. This is so no water leaks during brewing. When rotating the filter to lock it in place you do not need to rotate it all the way (90 degrees). You only need to rotate it enough to seal it in place. Make sure it's relatively tight so water doesn't leak.
Question:	can i use pods for these? Or i have to use the beans or the grated one
Answer:	My understanding is that pods can be used, but I'm old school (and cheap!) so I use ground beans and a tamper.
Question:	Do i need to buy a frothing pitcher or tamper? or does it come with them
Answer:	It comes with plastic tamper but I'd recommend buying a stainless steel one. Also it does not come with frothing pitcher so you'll have to buy one.

Answer:	Definitely. This machine is designed to produce espresso and it has the capability to steam and froth milk. Essentially the French cafe au lait and the Italian caffè latte is 1/3 espresso to 2/3 steamed milk, or a three ounce double serving espresso to five ounces of steamed milk.There can be a slight learning curve when it comes to frothing the milk. Make sure you are using a fresh and cold skim or 2% milk. Bleed your frothing tube line before lowering it into your frothing pitcher. Water will dilute the milk if line hasn't been bled.

Answer:	It froths the milk first and then makes the espresso. However you only have to push one button. When you choose cappucino or latte, you just place the cup on the machine and it will first send frothed milk into your cup and then add the espresso. It is very user friendly.

Answer:	Yes. The machine will automatically stop running when the brewing and foaming cycle finishes, however the rear power button must be turned off manually. It is not necessary to turn off the machine, but I personally do. This one of the best espresso machines that I have tried. My family uses it 2-4 times a day. It works perfect every time.

Answer:	While it won't make a "regular" cup of coffee you can use it to make Cafe Americano (Espresso and hot water) to make something very like a cup of coffee. I make Americano pretty regularly and it does a good job.

Answer:	It is an extra fine grind, however not a Turkish grind but can be used for Turkish coffee.

Answer:	I bought this Gaviña espresso "extra fine grind" coffee for my expresso machine. I noticed that it has a more difficult time making the espresso. When cleaning the coffee grounds after use, I noticed that because it is "extra fine", it become extra compact, making it more difficult to pass water through. I suggest you only use this if you have a decent machine. Otherwise, I would suggest the regular Gaviña Expresso grounds that come in a white can instead of the gold. Hope this helps.

Question:	how many ounces of coffee does this make? The cups must be very small
Answer:	Mix 2oz with 8oz of hot water for an Americano or with 8oz of hot milk for a cappuccino. For full effect you can whip the milk in a french press. The straight espresso (if brewed with find ground espresso and not regular ground coffee) that this makes is very strong by itself. You could drink a full pot of it but you'd be pretty wired, they're usually served in 1.5oz shots.
Question:	Is this the same as the Moka pot, but cheaper? Any differences between this and the Moka brand
Answer:	The main difference is the material being used. This is steel, while many are aluminum. There are alleged health problems with aluminum, plus it does leach into the flavor at times. This also has a different shape than the classic aluminum moka pots that have sharp angles. I don't think it makes any difference to the coffee, but it will look a bit different. I personally would still call this a Moka pot, even if it's not the Bialetti brand.

Question:	how to get the allumimum taste out
Answer:	First VERY RARELY EVER use soap! I learned the hard way not to use soap. That caused a little bit aluminum taste but as I used it by the 3rd time all that bad taste was gone. If you run water only thru a few time this might help. There are some easy powder cleansers you can purchase at stores in the coffee pot or pots and pans area. But very important for you to rinse several times with clear cool water. Also maybe put a little coffee grounds in the bottom and soak it over night the rinse well with water ONLY. This may help. Good luck!!

Answer:	Almost immediately; maybe 5 to 10 seconds max. The water in the boiler is already hot, so it only takes seconds to bring the temperature back up after one shot of water is used. By the time you get rid of the puck or used pod and reload the filter, the green temperature light is back on , and you are ready to brew another shot. I do this when making double shots, as getting 2 pods into the filter is difficult and the pump strains to push the water through the extra paper of 2 pods. If you want to brew doubles without having to reload the filter, I recommend using loose grounds, but that's messier than using pods. I prefer the pods, and reloading. Using it for guests should not be a problem.

Answer:	This was terribly complicated to use. You HAD to have the correct cup, which is very, small and nothing I wanted to fool with. Eventually I decided to look for a frother alone to heat milk & make my normal coffee. I LOVE THIS FROTHER. THE NAME IS "Capresso". You can buy at Bed Bath and Beyond or Amazon. Works great!
