These percolators are related to the categories of percolators, coffee makers, coffee, tea, espresso, kitchen dining, and home kitchen. Here's what you should know about Farberware percolators:
Percolator Coffee Makers:
- Farberware percolators are designed to brew coffee using the percolation method. In this brewing process, water is heated to create a continuous cycle of boiling and recirculating through the coffee grounds, resulting in a flavorful and robust cup of coffee.
Classic Design:
- Farberware percolators are known for their timeless and classic stainless steel design. They often feature a polished exterior and a detachable cord for easy serving and mobility.
Variety of Sizes:
- Farberware offers percolators in various sizes, allowing you to choose one that suits your coffee consumption needs. They typically come in 4-cup, 8-cup, and 12-cup capacities.
Ease of Use:
- Farberware percolators are relatively simple to use. You fill the water reservoir, add coffee grounds to the filter basket, and plug in the percolator to start the brewing process.
- The percolators are equipped with a clear glass knob at the top, which allows you to monitor the brewing process and determine the strength of your coffee.
Percolation Process:
- During brewing, water is heated, and it rises through a tube to reach the top of the percolator, where it falls over a perforated basket filled with coffee grounds.
- The water then percolates through the grounds, extracting flavors, and eventually drips back into the lower chamber.
- This process continues until the desired coffee strength is achieved.
Brewing Time:
- The brewing time in Farberware percolators can be adjusted based on your preferences. The longer you let it percolate, the stronger the coffee will be.
Keep Warm Feature:
- Many Farberware percolators have a "keep warm" feature, which maintains the brewed coffee at a drinkable temperature after the percolation process is complete.
Maintenance:
- Cleaning and maintaining a Farberware percolator is relatively straightforward. The removable parts, including the filter basket and stem, are easy to clean, and the stainless steel exterior can be wiped down.
Longevity:
- Farberware percolators are known for their durability and longevity. With proper care, they can serve you for many years, making them a reliable addition to your kitchen.
In summary, Farberware percolators are classic coffee makers that use the percolation method to brew coffee. User questions & answers
Question: | How do I know if my new pot is still made by farberware, or if is a newer version farberware made by black and decker |
Answer: | I had my last Farberware pot for a good eight+ years . . .I see absolutely no difference in my new one. It feels as every bit as solid and heavy as my last one. I'm sorry that it has to be made in China, but it is one of the few reasonably priced ALL STAINLESS STEEL perculators you can buy and I will buy the Farberware one (in 8+ years, I hope) again. I looked at "stainless" perculators at Bed, Bath and read the info on the box, which revealed that only the basket was stainless steel. Put it back on the shelf. |
Question: | How many ounces does the 2-4 cup Faberware percolator hold |
Answer: | I purchased the 8 cup Farberware coffee pot and it holds about 54 ounces. I'm not so sure about the 2-4 cup coffee pot. I do highly recommend the 8 cup pot, however...because you can still use it to make less cups but then if needed, you also can make 8 cups. |
Question: | Is the basket stainless steel as well? Do you need paper filters or will the basket work without it |
Answer: | The baskets are stainless steel and you do not need paper filters if you grind the coffee for a percolator. We buy our coffee at Costco and use the machine in the store and set it to "13 Percolator". The basket is specially designed to not need a filter if the coffee grind is correct. |
Question: | where is product made |
Answer: | Another note. This pot is not made by Farberware, as they no longer make coffee pots. They just sell there names to the Chinese makers. It is not half the quality of the old Farberware one I have. which is too big for every day use. Also after having this a year it stopped keeping the coffee warm and actually perks it again and again. So if you don't take the grinds out fast enough it keeps re-perking and your coffee gets stronger. In any case it still boils your coffee instead of just keeping it warm as it should. I only purchased it because I was stuck. There are not many perk pots on the market any longer. If it was possible I would not purchase it again. but as I said when I purchased it because there wasn't much of a selection out there. It's about time for a new one, so soon I'll have to start looking. I have had this one about 6 years. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there plastic where the handle is to shield knuckles from the hot exterior? The picture shown seems like knuckles would get burned from the pot |
Answer: | I measured mine with a thermometer. Right after the "on" light comes on, the brew is a very hot 195 degrees F. |
Question: | I received no instructions on this 8 cup Farberware Percolator. I grind my coffee beans, but no information on grind, Please advise |
Answer: | I found this to be the best method for filtration and eliminating grounds in the pot. 1) Use 12 cup basket filters. 2) Wet the inside bottom of the basket and run water through the percolator stem. 3) Center paper filter over basket stem and punch wet percolator stem down through filter and hole in basket stem. 4) Push filter to bottom of wet basket to adhere. 5) Drizzle water from tap along sides of paper filter/basket and press ruffled paper to flatten against the wet sides of basket. 6) Add desired amount of coffee and start brewing. I've never had a problem with grounds in my coffee since... enjoy! |
Question: | i need a power cord for a fcp 280 coffeepot. where can i find it |
Answer: | Only want STAINLESS STEEL... No plastics, NO ALUMINUM... Does this fit the bill... Any Aluminum or Plastic touching what is ingested - no deal. |
Question: | How is the plastic knob attached to the top? Is it screwed in from under the top or welded? You input and/or pic would be greatly appreciated |
Answer: | Grew up on perked coffee in the 70's before ADC (auto drip coffeemakers). Every store shelf coffee was with a bigger grind of coffee back then for the percolaters. Everything now is switched over to ADC coffee grounds. Too small a grind. Leaves coffee grounds in the perked coffee. Need a bigger grind. Let's e-mail coffee companies to make percolator size grounds again. Maxwell House used to be the standard. Youtube this and fast forward to 48 or 51 seconds and see the actual grind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X13ovEdx-fM or search youtube for "classic TV Commercials - Maxwell house coffee". You can also search and view "maxwell house ADC coffee commercial" that I grew up with when they changed the coffee cans in the store over to the ADC type of coffee that we have today. They had big ADC letters plastered on the coffee cans to advertise the changeover. Slowly the percolator grind faded away :( |

User questions & answers
Question: | Dear, I want to know when they have this product in stock nuevamnete, urgent desire to buy one right through Amazon |
Answer: | It's hard to belief the questions asked these days. I have had this coffee maker since 1994, that's 25-26 years when it was still built in USA, burning your hand and I have big hands isn't an issue unless you have hands like a gorilla. I take the guts out (quickly) right after perking and don't burn my fingers. The pot has three major parts, a thermal switch that starts and stops the perking, a big perk element for brewing and a keep warm element to keep coffee warm after brewing. My keep warm element burned out about 5 years ago so coffee slowly cools off till pot's predetermined temperature trips it to perk again. That's why I take the guts out of ours after perking. |
Question: | My old 12cup Fabwrware electric percolator had two prong plug. Does this newer model have a three prong plug? I use a timer for my present 8 cup with 3 prong |
Answer: | if you like strong coffee, heaping tablespoon per 2 cups. Courser grind for a little weaker. I suggest to use a flat filter on the bottom if using fine grind unless you don't care about frit in your mouth. The last 3 I bought broke within a year each so enjoy it. The quality has disappeared since made in china |
Question: | What's the voltage in this percolator? I want it for use in the middle east and must be 220V |
Answer: | check percolator parts at amazon.they have model numbers see if your pot matches model numbers. they have a 2 prong one. i clicked faberware percolator cords. they are about $9-$10. they also have 3 prong cords as well. |
Question: | Does it have measurement lines inside to know how much water you're adding |
Answer: | Thank you for your interest, Yuri. The knob screws on to a threaded piece of metal attached to the top of the lid. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Got the percolator and replacement glass top but have to re-learn exactly how much coffee to use for this perfect percolator |
Answer: | I think you could do that, if you have moderate tool skills. It might require a little bending of the spine piece to make the join support properly. |
Question: | I bought this and love it. Can you leave the basket in after brewing? That would sure be easier but the instructions say take it out |
Answer: | Package is about the same length as the product. The rack is assembled all you have to do is screw it to the wall, but there are no mounting screws included. I just picked up a couple of 100 pound drywall mounting screws and had it up in minutes, looks and works great. |
Question: | Does it work on induction stove top |
Answer: | 3-1/2". I strongly recommend you use stronger wall anchors. |
Question: | Is the filter basket and stem made of stainless steel also or aluminum |
Answer: | The mounting hardware included was a bit chintzy, so I used two self-drilling drywall anchors that are rated at 65lbs each. I already had a large box of them, so it did't cost me anything additional out of pocket. Amazon has the exact ones I used http://www.amazon.com/TOGGLER-SnapSkru-Self-Drilling-Drywall-Anchor/dp/B0051IB63Q/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425560330&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=TOGGLER+50-Pack+Self-Drilling+Drywall+Anchors+with+%238+x+1-1%2F2-in+Screws I realize that the rack itself does not look strong enough, but you would be surprised. I loaded it down with immediately following and I don't think that thing would budge. I liked it so much I bought an additional 2 racks and already gave one as a housewarming present. So, don't cheap out on the anchors, because those are the real secret to success. |
