There is a narrow rubber seal that connects the stainless steel burner to the glass pot on the bottom and also a rubber seal that helps secure the metal lid to the top of the pot but that is it. I returned several electric kettles before I bought this one and this was the only one that didn't give the water a plastic/chemical taste. Mr Coffee must use a better quality rubber seal than other brands. Hope that helps! |

They said if you cannot see a clock on the front of the coffee maker, then it won't have an auto shutoff. I sent it back since I know I will often forget to shut it off. |
