Question:	How often does this machine require a thorough cleaning
Answer:	If you only drink coffee clean the machine once a month. If you drink tea run clear water thru the machine after brewing the tea. If you make hot chocolate give the machine a though cleaning after making the chocolate, do not let the machine set without cleaning.
Question:	How tall is the coffee maker
Answer:	Closed, approximately 15 inches at the highest curved point. You will need an additional 3 inches to open the top to insert the cup. I have to scoot mine out from under the cabinet to put the pod in but it fits under just fine until then.
Question:	Can you use "pods" not made by Keurig
Answer:	You can use any brand "K" cups in this coffee maker including the filter cups to use your own grounds. But you cannot use the large "pods". This is just an old fashion Keurig coffee maker that works great.
Question:	does it come with
Answer:	The K-55 Does not come with a filter attachment. My wife purchase the filter attachment (Black) with reminder dial...not compatible. Supposedly the filter attachment for the K-55 is the clear plastic one that goes into the cold water reservoir and snaps to the bottom outlet. Goin to order it now. Yeah we made that mistake.

Answer:	Sorry for 1st answer about my checking Monday on size. I found two other answers I'd provided. As I remembered, it doesn't use filters. When I closed your "check Monday" answer, there were these two answers confirming what I remembered. NO FILTERS NEEDED. Coffee right in basket and it's easy to clean after use.

Answer:	I brew starbucks and dunkin donuts coffees in it after I grind them without a problem. Had to adjust the amount used, first pot could walk on its own.

Answer:	I have done catering events where you either have a personal hot drink dispenser already full. Or you show up prior to the event/guest arrival and start the coffee there in the urn as long long as you can plug it in. Depending on the amount of people this may not make enough coffee if you can't plug it in.
Question:	How long does it take to brew 55 cups
Answer:	This Hamilton Beach coffee maker does not normally use a filter. It is a percolator, not a drip machine, and the metal basket into which the coffee grounds are put serves as the filter as the hot water comes up through the center tube and percs out over the grounds, dripping back into the water supply, gradually attaining the flavor you are looking for as it leaches through the fresh grounds. I have heard of paper filters being modified to use in coffee makers such as this, but personally, I think it is a waste of time, energy and resources to do so. Incidentally, this HB unit is an outstanding, durable, long-life unit which also works well for heating water for tea, hot chocolate, or instant coffee, as well as being a great unit for heating apple cider during the hot cider season. (Don't forget to drop a couple of fresh cloves cloves into your pot of cider for a delightfully delicious and aromatic holiday time beverage.

Answer:	Yes, it works with mugs. I use a very tall mug and it still fits with room under the spout. How much water you put in depends on how strong you want your coffee. I use what is a *normal* amount for me i.e., fill my tall mug almost to the top. I use this every day and have not been disappointed.
Question:	Is it easy to clean the filter for the grounds, or do the grounds stick in the mesh? Are there little paper filters that are designed to line it
Answer:	We don't have little paper filters, but the filter for the grounds is very easy to clean. I just wash it with water and it becomes clean in few seconds.
Question:	Can someone please tell me can you make strong coffee with this coffee maker? I purchase a coffee maker that I couldn't taste the coffee at all
Answer:	another way to get stronger coffee is by purchasing a darker roasted coffee. Many of the coffee packages will tell you how strong the coffee is. The more roasted the coffee bean the deeper/stronger the coffee will be. This coffee maker will only brew a maximum of 14 oz. per brew cycle but the coffee ground holder holds 3/4 cup of grounds. I would experiment with different types of roasted beans, amount of water used and amount of ground coffee used at one time to try to get the perfect cup of coffee for your taste.

Answer:	Keurig k-cups are too expensive. I use Folgers or Maxwell House or Wal-Mart pods. They work fine, especially Wal-Mart Pods (Medium-Dark) which only cost 25 cents each if you buy a carton of 100.

Answer:	This is a percolator system, so there is no coffee filter. A removable stainless steel rod sends hot water from the lower part of the urn to the top, and then it "filters" through a stainless steel coffee basket which has a lid. The coffee/water rod would put a hole through a filter. The coffee basket lid, and using a coarse grind of coffee, helps to keep any grounds from landing in the water/coffee being brewed below.

Question:	Does anyone have a problem with the temperature? It is lukewarm at best
Answer:	I just used ours for the first time for hot chocolate and the milk got scalded at the bottom reservoir, which ruined the taste. It took quite a bit of scrubbing with steel wool to get it clean. Next time I'll just heat the water with it and offer packets of cocoa mix for my guests.
Question:	How many oz's water does it hold
Answer:	There are white deposits at the reservoir along with the hardened coffee deposits. I do use a non metallic scrubber to get it clean every three months because it is used daily. It stays pretty clean from there for a while. It's a great pot and have been using it without trouble for almost three years now. I also let it soak for a few hours in dishwasher detergent (Cascade) and give it a mild scrub also. Keeps it clean also. Good luck with a great pot.

Answer:	I wasn't aware it had a keep warm function. I'd check it, but it's at my church kitchen. But I've never seen a button or anything that said "keep warm".

Answer:	It definitely has a problem in its heating regulator. It will not keep coffee hot like it should. Only six months old! We are replacing it with a different unit because this one is getting thrown out.

Answer:	Global standard is 5-6oz per cup of coffee, only the us thinks its 8 oz, so it's likely a 150 oz carafe

Answer:	We only use the single serve side and it makes a great cup of coffee! I like the design since there is no guess work in how full it is going to fill your cup. You fill your cup with the amount of water you want, pour it in the machine, and push the button. I use a 16oz cup and it fills it full. The reservoir is emptied every time you use it so no mold/bacteria problem either!

Answer:	I take the k cup and open it pour the amount that’s in there in the coffee pot single side and brews just fine. Perfect measure.

Answer:	You can choose to use the filter however it works without itt, just a bit of coffee ground is found in the bottom

Answer:	was bought for my church and we only make coffee.
Question:	how long is the brewing cycle
Answer:	No it is not normal. Our church has several urns. 3 are 100 cup another is 55 (another brand) None of those drip from the top of the urn when brewing. It has nothing to do with the amount of water or the lid too tight. Actually the lid on the one we purchased was the same as to it's fit. Something is wrong with the construction of this brand and it's too bad. West Bend has always been so reliable in the past.

Answer:	We only used 8 to 10 oz cups but i think you could fit a 12 oz cup but any bigger and you would have to tilt
