Question:	Is there any way to get a consistent coarse grind? Ive tried coarse and medium and it still creates too fine of grinds and clogs my steel filters
Answer:	The grinder is ceramic and there is a dial to adjust the grind to what ever you want. I have been using this grinder now for about six months daily and it is consistently the same coursness. I have yet to have to take it apart and deep clean ot. However, I am grinding for a French press, so I use a fairly course grind. It may clog up more if you require a more fine grind.

Answer:	It does take a really long time to grind. I love espresso but I wish I had bought an electric one. The last thing I want to do first thing in the morning is grinding coffee for 3 mins just to make enough for 2 cups. Not a bad product but I feel like it might be more for a connoisseur or someone with more patience.

Answer:	Ok, when you take apart the top grinder thing, which you'll easily figure out and if you get confused, take a photo of it the way it is put together properly if you need that reference, but when you take apart the top grinder, the very last metal part, that looks like a gear with about 8 notches on it, flat, it looks like something maybe that you would associate with steampunk, anyway, you turn that metal flat thing with the 8 or so notches on it. You turn it clockwise for fine grounds, too small for a French press....or....you turn it counter clock wise to make more course grounds that will work better for a French press. If you have about 5 threads showing above that flat metal thing with about 8 notches on it, on the one we used, this model, it made perfect course coffee for the French press. That setting for the larger/course grounds also grinds much faster. This is absolutely NOT hard to grind with and does not make your arm tired. You're not doing it forever. It's SUPER EASY! I've never had a manual (none electric) coffee grinder before. I figured they were kind of lame but OH MY GOSH it is INCREDIBLE. We got this same exact one as a gift for someone and they absolutely loved it. That long spoon that comes with it, the long brown one, about 4 of those scoops make a fantastic full standard coffee pot using a French Press...I think they are about 1 liter or 1.5 liters. This grinder is very high quality.

Question:	Is there a way to keep the adjustment nut from drifting in the middle of grinding? I find that my setting shifts about 3-5 clicks during the grind
Answer:	Yes. It’s a little touchy calibrating the burrs to get a semi-fine grind but it will do a fine grind perfectly and course grind well too. Make sure you clean well after use or everything else will taste like that last thing you ground. Excellent tool!
Question:	Does is still come with an o-ring
Answer:	The adjustments are made entirely on the top of the grinder. First, unscrew the top nut and remove the handle. Once you remove the handle you'll see a washer on top of an elongated L-shaped bracket/tab with the tab that fits in one of the six notches on the bottom nut. Remove both of the washer and the bracket. Now, the bottom six notch washer should be the only thing left on the post coming out of the top of the grinder. Tighten it clockwise for a finer grind and loosen it counterclockwise for a courser grind. Once adjusted, place the bracket back on with the tab sitting in one of the six notches and place the round washer back on top of it. Put the handle back on over those and secure with the top nut.

Answer:	Yes it will, not 100% perfect, as the grinds are not 100% consistent (as in, some particles are different sizes from others), especially if you loosen it too much and make it too coarse. But if you veer toward the finer end of the coarse scale, the grinds get more consistent. This is due to the conical burr mechanism of this device, which is primarily for expresso machine or stovepot. If you want something more consistent, you might want to check out it's little brother, Hario coffee grind mini ( http://www.amazon.com/Hario-Coffee-Mill-Slim-Grinder/dp/B001804CLY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390204236&sr=8-1&keywords=hario+grinder+mini ), its mechaism is a lot more rigid and accommodating for a range of grinds.... This big one is just more loose on the loose settings. However I bought this one for it's size and stability of base. As I value stablity especially if I am grinding a large amount to fill my coffee storage box for the week ahead.....It depends what you are after, stability/large volume or portability/better-range-of-grind. For me, the french press settings, though not perfect, is GOOD ENOUGH for me....it makes a very drinkable french press brew for all but the most fussy connoisseurs.Hope this comprehensively answers your question.
Question:	Ordered this through Amazon-fulfilled by Digital Pen.The lid was missing. Yours come with lid in orig box
Answer:	The mill from Digital Pen is a FAKE. I also received it but it came in a brown box with no bean lid or jar lid and had no mention of Hario. I was suspicious and ordered another from Amazon (not just fulfilled by Amazon). The real mill came in a Hario box with the Hario name on the handle, glass, and mill. The plastic, ceramic, glass and metal details are different and of better quality with the real Hario. Beware of this seller.

Daily Maintenance

Step 1

Remove the bottom grounds catcher part daily and shake out the remaining coffee bean grinds. Hold it upside down and lightly tap the bottom of the catcher to loosen any lingering grinds. Or use a small brush to clear it.

Step 2

Hold the topper coffee bean grinder securely in your hands. Turn it upside down and shake it over a wastebasket. A downpour of loose grinds should fall into the trash. Still holding the coffee bean grinder upside down, move it from side to side, loosening grounds.

Step 3

Brush out the inside of the coffee bean grinder with an appliance brush. Use the brush to sweep inside the machine, around the burr and other hard-to-reach places.

Question:	There were no instructions included and cannot find any online. How do I adjust the grind? There is no screw on the bottom
Answer:	There is an adjustment knob on the bottom of the cutter assembly (accessible when the container into which the ground coffee is caught is removed). It has no "settings", you just have to set it by trial and error. I'd post a picture, but apparently that's not possible - Amazon wants text or video.
